Hopping Around the World Blog Hop - Easter

Hi Crafters,

I hope you are having a lovely day.  The Hopping Around the World team are back with another global blog hop.  We are a group of international Stampin' Up! demonstrators who bring inspiration your way every month.  Our theme for this month's blog hop is Easter and if you've arrived here from the brilliant Rebecca-Jo's post you are on the right track.

I was a bit stumped with this theme until I had a look through the Stampin' Up! annual catalogue.  I found the perfect stamp and die combo for the Easter theme using the Fable Friends stamp set and the Word Wishes dies.  I also decided to create a gatefold card to showcase the Jubilee Beauty dies.

I cut two of the Jubilee Beauty panel dies and used these as a template for my gatefold card base.  I attached with Multipurpose Liquid Glue and then went on to stamp and colour the rabbit.  I stamped in Sahara Sand on Fluid Watercolour Paper and then coloured using Flirty Flamingo and Crumb Cake inks picked up with an Aqua Painter.  To be honest the eyes went a little scary so the flowers are a good distraction!  The flowers were die cut from the Budding Blooms dies in Whisper White and coloured with Flirty Flamingo to co-ordinate.  I fussy cut the rabbit out and attached on one side with a little Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  Here is a close-up but maybe don't look too closely at the colouring job!

I hope you are feeling inspired with all of our Easter makes.  To keep hopping, head to the very talented Jennifer's post.  If you get lost, there is a blog hop list below.

Happy crafting,

Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop - We Love Bundles

Hi Crafters,

Welcome to the next installment of the Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop.  We are an international group of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators who love to share their passion for creating with you.  This month we are showing some love for the great bundles featured in Stampin' Up! catalogues.  Each bundle of either stamps and dies or stamps and a punch, offers a 10% saving.  This makes them even better value for money.

I chose to use the Timeless Tropical bundle which includes the Timeless Tropical cling stamp set and the In The Tropics dies.  I love the images in this bundle because they remind me of Hawaii which I visited in October 2016.  I probably should have used this opportunity to make a scrapbook page but of course I've just thought of that now!  I'll have to set some time aside for scrapbooking soon.

Instead I have made a trio of cards featuring different stamps and dies.  They all have a tropical feel and I've only used a few colours.

This first card was made using only dies but I've used the sentiment die to make a stamp!  I started with a Crumb Cake base card and added my die cuts on top.  The pineapple was made from cardstock in Pineapple Punch and Mossy Meadow.  I inked the intricate die with Crumb Cake ink before running through my die cutting machine.  This gave the die extra dimension and interest.  I cut the sentiment from fun foam, attached to an acrylic block using a small amount of snail adhesive.  I inked up in Soft Suede and stamped directly onto the card base.  I used Stampin' Dimensionals behind my pineapple to give it a raised and rounded look.

The second card was a bit more stepped up.  I created a background panel on Crumb Cake cardstock using the pineapple stamp for a tone on tone look.  This was much easier with the Stamparatus as I could position the stamp once and then move the plates up or down the card for each column of stamping.  I used an old toothbrush to flick on some Shimmer Paint in Champagne Mist.  This really sparkles in real life but the photos never do the sparkle justice.  I tore a piece of So Saffron cardstock to create an island and added some faint Crumb Cake lines using a Stampin' Write Marker so that the trees would be grounded.  I coloured the trees with Stampin' Write Markers in Soft Suede, Mossy Meadow and Old Olive and used the co-ordinating die to cut them out.  I also used the markers for the sentiment which was cut out with a non-bundle product!  Oops!  It's a die from the Painted Labels dies which also comes as part of a bundle.  I glued the sentiment flat with Liquid Multipurpose Glue but used Stampin' Dimensionals for the island elements.

The final card is a clean and simple design using the hibiscus stamp and co-ordinating die.  I stamped the flower in Rococo Rose on Whisper White cardstock and coloured with the Pumpkin Pie Watercolour Pencil.  I blended with an Aqua Painter.  I added the sentiment in Basic Black cardstock.  I used the Rococo Rose Stampin' Write Marker to draw a loose rectangle frame for my flower.  I created dimension on the back of the flower with the largest embossing tool from the Take Your Pick Tool, also adhering with Stampin' Dimensionals to retain the height.

I hope you've loved seeing these bundles showcased as much as we've loved creating these projects.  To keep hopping, click the arrow to head to the wonderful Libby.  Don't forget to let us know your favourite bundle too.

Happy crafting,
Rachel x
