I'm back hopping with the Global Stamping Friends and this month we are showcasing projects featuring circles. This really leaves the design wide open to so much creativity. I have a Christmas project featuring a circle frame.
This card probably looks complicated but it's really simple.
I created a card base in Real Red cardstock and then adhered a piece of Whisper White cardstock which was embossed using the Softly Falling Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I've used this embossing folder on so many projects - it's a crafty must have. To create the topper element I die cut the frame using the largest and second largest Layering Circle dies in Whisper White cardstock. I also cut the fence from the Farmhouse Framelits Dies in Whisper White cardstock. I did a watercolour wash on a piece of Whisper White cardstock and then cut this out using the largest Layering Circle die. This cardstock isn't recommended for water-based techniques because it can pile but if you use the water sparingly, you can achieve the desired watercolour effect. I stamped the robin from the Painted Glass stamp set in Early Espresso and then coloured using Stampin' Blends in Real Red, Crumb Cake and Bronze. The sentiment was stamped in Balmy Blue to match the background and came from the Merry Christmas to All stamp set. I added the robin and the frame with Stampin' Dimensionals.
I hope you like my take on the circle theme. To keep hopping click the picture below to get to Tricia's blog.
