Festive Sunday Inspiration Week 9 - Owl Trio

Hi crafters,

Today is the next installment in my Festive Sunday Inspiration series.  There is still time to catch up though, take a look back at the first post.  I will be bringing you a post every Sunday until 29 November featuring festive projects to spark your creativity.  Projects will feature Stampin' Up! products from the August-December 2020 Mini Catalogue and the Annual Catalogue, using a variety of techniques.  If you would like to purchase any of the products for yourself, please visit my online shop which is open 24/7.

I'm revisiting the Have a Hoot bundle today because it's so much fun and I love that you can make simple or complex projects.

I created a card base from Thick Whisper White cardstock.  I embossed a piece of Whisper White cardstock with the Winter Snow Embossing Folder which was inked on one side with Just Jade ink.  I then ran the Pretty Peacock inkpad over the raised areas.  This piece was adhered with Multipurpose Liquid Glue to the centre of the card base.  I used the same Winter Snow Embossing Folder with a panel of Crumb Cake cardstock and then added Craft ink (white) to the raised areas.  After cutting the tag die from the centre of this panel, I matted onto a piece of Just Jade cardstock.  The owls were stamped in Crumb Cake ink and then I used a Just Jade Stampin' Write Marker to highlight small areas on each image.  Finally I stamped the sentiment from the Poinsettia Petals stamp set in Crumb Cake and trimmed this down with my guillotine.  I popped the main panel and sentiment strip up with Stampin' Dimensionals

Now that we are halfway through the Festive Sunday Inspiration, have you started on your makes for Christmas yet?  I'd love to know what you're creating this year.

Happy crafting,

We Fall in... Colours Blog Hop - October 2020

Hi crafters,

It's the turn of the We Fall In... Colours team to share our passion for creativity through colour in our monthly blog hop.  If you've hopped from Belinda's great post, you are on the right track.  There is a full list of participants at the end of this post.

This month's colours are Real Red, Crushed Curry and Blackberry Bliss.  I broke out a new stamp set and used Today's Tiles.  This stamp set is featured in the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue.  I wasn't sure about it at first but after having a little play, I'm totally in love!  I can't wait to make more projects with this versatile stamp set.  There are also co-ordinating dies available but I haven't used them for this project.

I created a card base from Thick Whisper White cardstock and then used a panel of Whisper White cardstock to stamp the main image from the Today's Tiles stamp set.  I applied the three inks - Real Red, Crushed Curry and Blackberry Bliss using sponge daubers.  The Stamparatus is a must have tool for two-step stamping.  I used the Stitched Rectangles Dies to cut out the panel and the sentiment.  The greeting was stamped with Blackberry Bliss ink.  I've created a clean and simple design to allow the tiles to really pop.

I hope you have been enjoying our colours for this month's blog hop.  To keep hopping, click the next button below to head to Sigrid's wonderful post.

Happy crafting,

Festive Sunday Inspiration Week 8 - Forever Gold

Hi crafters,

Today is the next installment in my Festive Sunday Inspiration series.  There is still time to catch up though, take a look back at the first post.  I will be bringing you a post every Sunday until 29 November featuring festive projects to spark your creativity.  Projects will feature Stampin' Up! products from the August-December 2020 Mini Catalogue and the Annual Catalogue, using a variety of techniques.  If you would like to purchase any of the products for yourself, please visit my online shop which is open 24/7.

I've gone traditional with a modern twist today.  I made this card back in June - I like to get a head start on my Christmas cards and it gives me an excuse to crank up the Christmas tunes!

The gold accents on my card come from the Forever Gold Laser-Cut Specialty Paper which is stunning.  The pack includes 18 die cut panels in six designs and 39 foliage elements.

I started with a top folding card base in Thick Whisper White cardstock.  I added a panel of the Flowers For Every Season Designer Series Paper and then used thin strips of Gold Foil cardstock on either side.  I stamped the sentiment from the Still Scenes stamp set in Versamark ink and then heat embossed in gold.  I cut out the sentiment using the Tasteful Labels dies.  I adhered Stampin' Dimensionals behind the sentiment topper and then placed one of the gold foil elements from the Forever Gold Laser-Cut Specialty Paper behind and then added another layer of Stampin' Dimensionals for extra pop.

Stay tuned for next week's installment which is sure to give you all the festive vibes!

Happy crafting,
Rachel x
