Freshly Made Sketches 457 Entry - Sparkle Snowflakes

Hi crafters,

I have an entry for the latest Freshly Made Sketches Challenge (457).  I love seeing what the design team have created for each sketch - they have so much talent.

This sketch could be used for any occasion and I went for a sparkly snowflake theme using the Snowflake Wishes stamp set and the So Many Snowflakes dies from Stampin' Up!'s Snowflake Splendor Suite.

I created a card blank from half a sheet of Thick Whisper White A4 cardstock and then placed a piece of the Playing With Patterns DSP straight on top as my first layer.  The centre panel was created using Shimmery White Embossing Paste mixed with a little Gorgeous Grape ink.  I applied the paste through one of the Decorative Masks onto Whisper White cardstock and smoothed out with a palette knife.  Once this had completely dried, which took about 30 minutes, I added fun foam on the back to give even dimension.  I stamped the sentiment from the Snowflake Wishes stamp set in Bermuda Bay ink and then cut this down with my mini guillotine.  The snowflakes were cut from Balmy Blue Glitter cardstock but they didn't match my project so I used a Dark Bermuda Bay Stampin' Blend and recoloured them, adhering with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

I would like to enter this card into the Freshly Made Sketches Challenge 457.

Happy crafting, Rachel x

We Fall In...Colours Blog Hop

Hi Crafters,

It's time to hop again with a Blog Hop from the We Fall In... Colours team.  We are an international group of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators who love to share our passion for creativity through colour.  If you've hopped from Conni's blog, you are on the right track.  There is a full list of participants at the end of this post too.

This month's colour challenge features Sahara Sand, Gorgeous Grape and Blackberry Bliss.

I started by making a Sahara Sand card base from half a sheet of A4 cardstock.  I created a panel from Whisper White cardstock and cut the tiny butterflies from the Butterfly Beauty dies in Blackberry Bliss, Gorgeous Grape and Sahara Sand cardstock arranging in a waterfall pattern.  I wrapped a piece of Linen Thread around the panel to draw attention to the sentiment.  The sentiment from the So Sentimental stamp set was stamped in Blackberry Bliss ink onto Sahara Sand cardstock and cut out using the Layering Circle Dies .  I added a circle of vellum cardstock behind my sentiment to make it stand out using the same circles dies.

To keep hopping, head to Melanie's blog for more inspiration featuring this month's colour theme of Blackberry Bliss, Gorgeous Grape and Sahara Sand.

Happy crafting,

Rachel x

Global Design Project #234 - Sketch Challenge

Hi Crafters,

Every Monday I check out the new challenge from the Global Design Project team and this week I'm finally joining in with a rainbow card.  This week's theme a sketch challenge and I've included the GDP image for reference.

I started by creating my background on Whisper White cardstock.  I inked through one of Basic Pattern Decorative Masks with all of the 2018-2020 In Colours and Gorgeous Grape to create a rainbow pattern.  I trimmed the panel down and attached it to a black mat which I adhered to my card base created from half a sheet of A4 Whisper White cardstock.

I added a vellum banner using the Banner Punch.  I stamped the umbrella image from the Under My Umbrella stamp set in Versamark ink on Basic Black cardstock and heat embossed in white.  I used the Umbrella Builder Punch to cut out my images.  I added punched shapes to a die cut circle from the Stitched Shapes dies using Stampin' Dimensionals.  I also white heat embossed my sentiment onto Basic Black cardstock and then fussy cut using Paper Snips.

I would like to enter this card into the Global Design Project #234 Sketch Challenge.
Happy crafting,
Rachel x
