Festive Sunday Inspiration 4 - Joy Treat Holder

 Hi crafters,

Today is the fourth installment in my Festive Sunday Inspiration series.  There is still time to catch the first, second and third posts though.  I will be bringing you a post every Sunday until 29 November featuring festive projects to spark your creativity.  Projects will feature Stampin' Up! products from the August-December 2020 Mini Catalogue and the Annual Catalogue, using a variety of techniques.  If you would like to purchase any of the products for yourself, please visit my online shop which is open 24/7.

Today's project features two bundles from the August-December 2020 Mini Catalogue.  There is a 10% saving when you purchase a bundle combining stamps and dies or stamps and a punch.  I used the Little Treats bundle to make a treat holder and then decorated it with the Peace and Joy bundle.

I started by cutting out the treat holder from Crumb Cake cardstock and it was super easy to assemble, taking less than a minute.  I used the Joy Dies and cut from Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake and Whisper White cardstocks.  I adhered these together using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  I stamped the holly in Shaded Spruce and the berries in Cherry Cobbler to match the sentiment and then fussy cut using Paper Snips.  I added the stamped part of the sentiment in Shaded Spruce and trimmed this out with my Stampin' Up! mini guillotine.  I used Braided Linen Trim to secure the top of the treat holder closed.  I haven't decided which treat to place inside the holder yet.

The finished treat holder measures 3/4" x 2 1/2" x 1 7/8 (D x H x W) which would be perfect for a tree ornament or sweet treat.  I don't think a round chocolate truffle would fit but I would have fun trying!  What would you add to yours?

Happy crafting,

Hopping Around the World Blog Hop - 3D Projects

Hi crafters,

I'm delighted to be bringing you another blog hop from the Hopping Around the World team.  We are an international group of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators who hop every month to share inspiration and creativity.  This month our theme is 3D projects and I've created two treat packages using stamps, punches, dies and ink!  If you are coming from Rebecca-Jo's post you are on the right track.  There is a full list of the blog hop participants at the end of this post.

I started by using the Mini Curvy Keepsake box die with Whisper White cardstock to create a white base for my stamping.  I masked three of the sides and stamped the grass image from the Field of Flowers stamp set in Granny Apple Green around the base of each of the sides to create a continuous pattern.  I added some Balmy Blue ink to the top of the side panels to create an illusion of sky.  I stamped the small co-ordinating flowers in Mango Melody ink and used the Confetti Flowers Border Punch to cut out the shapes.  I added three Gorgeous Grape butterflies from the Butterfly Beauty Dies.  I used the Lovely Labels Pick a Punch to create the tag and stamped a greeting from the Itty Bitty Greeeting stamp set in Balmy Blue.  I attached the tag with some linen thread tied in a small bow.

For my second project I used the Perfect Parcels dies with Balmy Blue cardstock.  This time I stamped the grass image in Garden Green.  The lamb from the new Hippo Happiness stamp set was stamped in Gray Granite onto Whisper White cardstock and cut out with the matching dies.  I used Stampin' Dimensionals to pop the lamb up for added texture.   I stamped the sentiment in Balmy Blue for a tone on tone look and finally tied some Gray Granite Shimmer Ribbon on top to finish.

I hope the projects on this hop have inspired you to create a 3D project.  They are a lot of fun.  To keep hopping, head to Mo's post next.

Happy crafting,
Rachel x

Autumn/Winter Stampin' Up! 2017 Catalogue - Berry Burst Pillowbox

Hi Crafters,

I'm back with my second post of the Autumn/Winter Stampin' Up! 2017 catalogue launch.  This post features a 3D project which is perfect for gift giving and so easy to make.  First of all, let's look at the Tags and Trimmings stamp set and Trim Your Stocking Thinlits Dies I used to create the pillowbox.  You can purchase the stamps and dies together and save 10%.

To create the pillowbox, I cut two of the pillowbox dies in Berry Burst cardstock, to make a front and back.  I cut off the two top tabs and also the sides of one of the die cuts.  Next I folded along all the score lines, being careful at the corners.  I used Tear and Tape to adhere the front and back pieces together.

The decoration was created from a piece of Whisper White cardstock, stamped in Berry Burst (2nd generation) with the snowflake image from the Tags and Trimmings stamp set.  I added a piece of silver 1/8" ribbon and wrapped this around the pillowbox.  The tag is also created from the same die set and I attached the bow using a Glue Dot.  The finished pillowbox measures 3.5" by 2.5".

These pillowboxes are super easy to make and can be decorated to match any present.  Why not add the wow factor to your gifts by presenting them in your own handmade pillowboxes.  I plan to fill mine with jewellery and sweets  - although not together!

Don't forgot about your chance to win blog candy.  Simply follow my blog and comment on each of the Autumn/Winter Catalogue launch posts for a chance to win.  You can earn extra entries on my Facebook page and Instagram account too.  You have until 7 p.m. on Saturday 9 September 2017 to complete your entry.

Happy crafting,
Rachel x
