Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop - Christmas in July

Hi crafters,

I'm very excited to take part in a new to me blog hop today.  The Stampin Dreams Blog Hop is featuring projects in the theme of Christmas in July.  I love getting a head start on my Christmas makes.

As soon as I saw the Festive Foliage Background Stamp in the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue I knew I wanted to use it with dark cardstock and gold heat embossing.  So that's exactly what I did for this card!

I made a card base using half a sheet of A4 Evening Evergreen cardstock.  I stamped the Festive Foliage image in Versamark ink onto Evening Evergreen cardstock and heat embossed with Stampin' Emboss Gold Powder.  I added Evening Evergreen ink to the edges of the panel with a Blending Brush and then adhered the panel to the card base with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  I stamped and gold heat embossed the sentiment from the Inspired Thoughts Stamp Set.  The banner die from the Tasteful Labels Dies was used to cut this out and then popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals.  I finished off the card by adding some Red Rhinestone Jewels.

Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop - Recipe

Hi crafters,

It's the first Friday of the month and that means a Global Stamping Friends blog hop.  We are a group of international Stampin' Up! Demonstrators who love to share our passion for creativity through our monthly hops.  I'm one of the European demos, based in the UK.  This month's theme is Recipe and the recipe we are using is Crumb Cake with food If you've come from Jan's wonderful post, you are on the right track.  There is also a full list of participants at the end of this post.

This theme really had me in a pickle!  I pulled out all my stamp sets that feature food and went about creating from there.  The first card I made features the Measure of Love stamp set and What's Cookin'? bundle from the Stampin' Up! 2021-2022 Annual Catalogue.

I adhered a panel of the Sweet Symmetry Designer Series Paper at a jaunty angle and I call this the tablecloth design!  I cut the chopping board from Crumb Cake cardstock using the Cookin' Dies.  The debossed detail is part of the die.  I stamped the bowl and spatula from the What's Cookin'? stamp set and the cupcake and sentiment from the Measure of Love stamp set.  I coloured the tip of the spatula with a Water Painter and Rich Razzleberry ink.  I stamped and fussy cut an extra bowl front and added this with Stampin' Dimensionals to give the bowl some shape.  I also added dimension behind the cupcake.

My second card is completely different but still features the recipe for the theme of the blog hop.  This time round I used the Sweet Strawberry bundle which includes a punch.

I used the Stitched Rectangle Dies to cut from Crumb Cake cardstock and then ran the panel through again with the circle die from the Picture This Dies.  I used the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder and ran the panel through my Stampin' Cut and Emboss Machine for a third time.  I used Garden Green cardstock with the Stitched Greenery Die and then applied a layer of white ink on top.  I die cut the panel using the same circles die from the Picture This Dies.  However the white ink made the cardstock too light compared to the stamping on the strawberries so I added a little Garden Green for a shaded look.  I made the strawberries using Poppy Parade and Garden Green inks and cut these out with the Strawberry Builder Punch.  I added smiley faces to the strawberries with a Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker.  The small white flowers are from the Peach Dies - these dies have lots of small flowers and leaves which are the perfect finishing touch for your projects.  I stamp the sentiment in Crumb Cake ink and then fussy cut using Paper Snips.  I added dimension behind the strawberries whilst keeping the remainder of the card flat.

Here's the two cards side by side.

And now it's on to the next stop on our Recipe Blog Hop.  Click the next arrow below to see Tricia's fantastic post.  Don't forget that we love to hear from you so be sure to leave us a comment.

Happy crafting,
