Global Design Project #303 - Theme Challenge - Flower Power

Hi crafters,

I have a card to enter for the latest challenge over at Global Design Project and their theme is flower power.  This is right up my street!

I have gone to the dark side for my make today!  I used predominantly black cardstock with accents of gold.

I created a base card from Basic Black cardstock.  I stamped my floral image from the Forever Blossoms stamp set onto a panel of Basic Black cardstock in Versamark ink and then heat embossing using gold powder.  I arranged the Playful Alphabet Dies to spell wonderful over the heat embossed panel and then ran this through my Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine.  I cut the letters an additional three times for dimension.  I used the Gold Foil Sheets cut with the Stitched Rectangle Dies to frame the focal image.  I adhered everything to the card using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  A fairly simple card but I hope it has the wow factor.

I would like to enter this card into the Global Design Project #303 - Theme Challenge:  Flower Power

Happy crafting,

Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop - Christmas in July

Hi crafters,

I'm very excited to take part in a new to me blog hop today.  The Stampin Dreams Blog Hop is featuring projects in the theme of Christmas in July.  I love getting a head start on my Christmas makes.

As soon as I saw the Festive Foliage Background Stamp in the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue I knew I wanted to use it with dark cardstock and gold heat embossing.  So that's exactly what I did for this card!

I made a card base using half a sheet of A4 Evening Evergreen cardstock.  I stamped the Festive Foliage image in Versamark ink onto Evening Evergreen cardstock and heat embossed with Stampin' Emboss Gold Powder.  I added Evening Evergreen ink to the edges of the panel with a Blending Brush and then adhered the panel to the card base with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  I stamped and gold heat embossed the sentiment from the Inspired Thoughts Stamp Set.  The banner die from the Tasteful Labels Dies was used to cut this out and then popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals.  I finished off the card by adding some Red Rhinestone Jewels.

Festive Sunday Inspiration Week 16 - Final Installment!

Hi crafters,

We've made it!  This is the final installment in my Festive Sunday Inspiration series.  You can still catch up on the previous posts, take a look back at the first post.  I've posted every Sunday for the last 16 weeks sharing festive projects to spark your creativity.  Projects featured Stampin' Up! products from the August-December 2020 Mini Catalogue and the Annual Catalogue, using a variety of techniques.  If you would like to purchase any of the products for yourself, please visit my online shop which is open 24/7.

This is the card I've designed for my Mam and Dad this year.  I've only seen them a handful of times and we only live about 30 minutes apart.  Hoping for many more face-to-face visits next year.

I've had the idea for this card in my mind for about two years!  It turned out exactly as I planned and that rarely happens.  I started with a Thick Whisper White card base and then cut a panel of Whisper White cardstock for the stamping.  I used the Peaceful Boughs stamp set and Stampin' Write Markers in Shaded Spruce and Soft Suede.  I stamped first and second generation images using the Stampin' Write Markers to colour the stamps and then remembering to huff before stamping.  This just keeps the ink wetter for longer so you get a better impression.  I added the sentiment in gold heat embossing and adhered the panel using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.   There are a few Rhinestone Basic Jewels dotted through the branches but these are not showing up in the photo.

As this is the last week of the Festive Sunday Inspiration series, I'd love to know your favourite project.  I hope you've been inspired.

Happy crafting, Rachel x

Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop - Party

Hi Crafters,

Welcome to the first Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop of 2020.  We hope you've enjoyed all the international inspiration over the last year and we can't wait to share more.  Our theme this month is Party!  I'm not sure why but I've had such a struggle with this theme!  One of my crafty resolutions is to use up the pieces I've already created and this theme helped me out.

I had a "party" playing with the new Pigment Sprinkles a couple of weeks ago and created this background.  The Pigment Sprinkes are powder pigments in six Stampin' Up! colours - Bermuda Bay, Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green, Gorgeous Grape, Mango Melody and Melon Mambo.  I'm always a little hesitant to use up unique backgrounds but this was the perfect piece to showcase my gold embossed sentiment.

I created a card blank from Whisper White cardstock.  I used Shimmery White cardstock for the Pigment Sprinkles panel which is a great cardstock for water-based techniques.  I added Pigment Sprinkles in Bermuda Bay, Gorgeous Grape and Melon Mambo and sprayed generously with water to get the colour moving.  I'm not sure I could ever recreate this particular pattern again!  I dabbed up the excess colour using more background pieces which I'll use for other projects.

I stamped my sentiment from the Everything Amazing stamp set in Versamark and heat embossed with gold embossing powder on Vellum.  I used the Stamparatus to line up the smaller sentiment elements which made it really easy to get a perfect image.  I die cut using the Stitched Nested Labels with the largest sized die.  I added my vellum piece with Liquid Multipurpose Glue and finished with some purple Noble Peacock Rhinestones.

I hope you've been inspired to get partying!  To keep hopping please head to Anastasia's brilliant creation.  If you get lost, there is a roll call list below.

Happy crafting,
Rachel x
