Hopping Around the World Blog Hop - Up In the Air

Hi crafters,

Welcome to another blog hop and this time it is the turn of the Hopping Around the World team.  We hop on the last weekend of every month and showcase creativity from around the globe using Stampin' Up! products.  Our theme this month is Up in the Air which could be anything that flies or that you can see in the sky.  I can't wait to see everyone's posts.  If you've come from Claudia's wonderful post, you are on the right track.  There is a full list of participants at the end of this post.

I had so many ideas for this theme but the one that stood out was rainbows.  I also wanted to try making some clouds from a die cut.

I started with a regular half sheet of A4 Whisper White cardstock for my base care.  I cut the bumpy border die from the Happy Dies with a piece of scrap Whisper White cardstock and then inked over a panel of Whisper White cardstock using Balmy Blue ink and a blending brush.  I moved the die cut down the panel and inked lighter and heavier in places for a more realistic look.  To create the rainbow I used the Layering Circle Dies and cardstocks in Real Red, Daffodil Delight and Just Jade.  I actually ended up with 8 rainbows so plenty left for future cards.  The sentiment comes from the Friend Like You stamp set and is inked in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.  I added some die cut hearts from the Stitched Be Mine Dies to tie the card together.  I also added a layer of Wink of Stella to the rainbow.

I hope you are enjoying this blog hop featuring up in the air projects.  To keep hopping, head to Mo's great post next.

Happy crafting,
Rachel
