Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop - Halloween

Hi Crafters,

We are back with another Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop and this time we are showcasing all things spooky!  It's a Halloween themed hop and I can't wait to be inspired.

I absolutely adore the Cauldron Bubble Suite from the new Stampin' Up! Autumn/Winter catalogue and it's perfect for today's theme.

The images just make me smile and I love all the embellishments that are available with the Suite.  I've used quite a few on my project!

I created a 5" square card base in Lemon Lime Twist and then took a piece of Whisper White cardstock and inked up in Basic Grey and Memento Tuxedo Black with a sponge. I stamped and coloured my images on to Shimmery White cardstock using an Aqua Painter.  I stamped the stars and bubbles in the background with Lemon Lime Twist ink and then popped the witch, cauldron and frog up with Stampin' Dimensionals.  Using the spider web die from the Cauldron Framelits, I cut out two pieces in Vellum and adhered with Liquid Multipurpose Glue.  I added a piece of the Glittered Organdy Ribbon and attached a Spider charm.  I stamped the sentiment in Lemon Lime Twist onto Whisper White cardstock and then inked the edges with the sponge using left over ink from the background.   I added a line of Wink of Stella to ground the images but this hasn't shown up in the photo.

I hope you aren't too spooked with our Halloween hop!  To keep hopping just click the image below.  However, if you get lost there is a full list at the end of this post.

Happy hopping!

Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop - Card Sets

Hi Crafters,

The Global Stamping Friends are back with another inspiring Blog Hop.  This time we are showcasing card sets.  I can't wait to see what my fellow bloggers have created.

This theme came at the perfect time as my lovely Stampin' Up! friend Rhoda had challenged her team to create a set of cards using only one stamp set, two ink pads and Very Vanilla Notecards.  I chose to use the Southern Serenade Stamp Set as it has versatile images which are great for backgrounds, focal elements and greetings.

I made three cards for my set and decorated the envelopes to match using Powder Pink and Tranquil Tide ink.

The card on the left was created using the large lace image, stamped multiple times and then cut apart to create a channel for the sentiment.  I stamped the floral image in Tranquil Tide to match and then fussy cut using Paper Snips.

The background for the middle card was made using two pieces of Very Vanilla cardstock, stamped in each of the colours with the lace image and then cut into strips.  I created a woven effect with the strips to give a textured feel.  I stamped the sentiment and raised this up using Stampin' Dimensionals.

The card on the right was created using an inking technique that I've neglected for a long time.  I scrunched up a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock and then ran the Powder Pink ink pad over it to give a distressed look.  The remainder of the card was simply stamped and cut.

I hope this has inspired you to try the challenge too.  It really made me think about using all the images in the set and how I could make each card different.  Be sure to let me know if you give this a try.
