Petal Passion with Peekaboo Peach!

Hi Crafters,

As promised, I'm back with a project featuring the Petal Passion Suite from Stampin' Up!'s Spring/Summer 2018 catalogue.  I adore this suite and I'm sure you will too.

I started with a piece of Whisper White cardstock to make my card blank and lightly inked the edges in Peekaboo Peach to create a frame.  I lightly inked up the stripey embossing folder from the Petal Pair set in Peekaboo Peach and ran that through the Big Shot with a piece of Whisper White cardstock.  I cut the foliage from Basic Black cardstock and adhered with Liquid Multipurpose Glue.  To create the scalloped circle layer, I inked a piece of Whisper White cardstock giving a subtle finish.  I also stamped my sentiment in Peekaboo Peach and die cut with the Layering Circle Framelits Dies.

Happy Crafting,

Stampin' Up! Spring/Summer Catalogue Top 5

Hi Crafters,

Today's post is a little different as I'm sharing my Top 5 favourite products from the Stampin' Up! Spring/Summer catalogue.  The catalogue will be available until May 31 but you may see some of the products again in the new Annual Catalogue from early June.  You can click on the cover image in the sidebar on the right to view the entire catalogue electronically.  If you would prefer a hard copy, simply send me an email with your name and postal address and I'll post one out to you.

Number 5 - Scattered Sequins Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder

You can find this beauty on page 13 of the Spring/Summer catalogue but it's a little tricky to spot.  Take a look in the bottom right hand corner of the page and you'll find the folder peeking out at you!  The folder is 6" square and produces a 3D sequin design, which is perfect for those moments you need just a little something extra on your project.

Number 4 - Myths and Magic Specialty Washi Tape

The Myths and Magic Specialty Washi Tape really needs to be seen to be believed.  It is so sparkly and the star design is my all time favourite washi tape ever!  When you add this to your order, you'll receive three designs and in three widths:  3/16" (5 yards), 3/8" (5 yards) and 1/2" (7.5 yards) or 0.5 cm (4.6 m), 1cm (4.6 m) and 1.3 cm (6.9 m).  Be sure to check out the entire Myths and Magic Suite featuring fire-breathing dragons, wonderful wizards and mystical mermaids!

Number 3 - Lots of Happy Card Kit

The Lots of Happy Card Kit is an all-inclusive kit which means you receive everything needed to create 20 beautiful cards.  The kit comes with a set of seven photopolymer stamps, ink, embellishments, watercolour pencils, ribbon and more.  Stampin' Up! have also created a how-to video on assembly so putting your cards together will be a breeze.

Number 2 - Lots to Love Box Framelits Dies

The Lots to Love Box Framelits Dies are a must-have for any crafter.  The main die is used to make a handy box that measures 4-7/8" x 3" x 5/8" (12.4 x 7.6 x 1.6 cm).  You could easily use this as a gift card box or wrap up some chocolate for an extra indulgent treat.  There is also an opportunity to purchase this set of dies in a bundle with a fabulous stamp set.  I've included a link at the end of this post in the Product List.

Number 1 - Petal Passion Suite

Stampin' Up! really have excelled with the Petal Passion Suite.  The monochrome palette looks fabulous paired with a pop of colour.  The stamps and dies can be used together or separately to create stunning projects and the Memories and More Card Pack really adds the perfect finishing touch to the collection.  The Designer Series Paper is beautiful and can be used for a variety of special occasions.  I'll have a post featuring this Suite on Wednesday 31 January so be sure to check back then.

Now that I've shared my Top 5 products from the Stampin' Up! Spring/Summer 2018 catalogue, I would love to hear yours.  Simply leave a comment on this post to let me know.

Happy crafting,

Mixed Metallics

Hi Crafters,

Today's card features mixed metallics.  I've only recently been converted to combining gold, silver and copper but I love how this card turned out.  I've also used some new watercolour paints by Kuretake to fill in my main image.  You can pick these up from Amazon (non-affiliate link above) and they are spectacular!  Stampin' Up's Petal Palette stamp set offers so many crafting opportunities.

I chose to use the large floral image but I stamped twice, turning the stamp between impressions to create a mirror image effect.

This card really shimmers in real life - almost like Wink of Stella but in paint form.  Check out my Instagram stories later today to see the magic!  I started with a piece of Basic Black cardstock and stamped the floral image from the Petal Palette stamp set in Versamark, heat setting with Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder.  I used the Kuretake Starry Colours watercolour paints to fill the image in Red Gold, White Gold, Light Gold and Champagne Gold.

My sentiment comes from the Banners For You stamp set, cut out using the Bunch of Banners Framelits dies.  I used Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder for the banner outline and Archival Basic Black for the greeting.  I raised the die cut on Stampin' Dimensionals attached behind the heat embossing.  This required military precision adhesion!  I added three groups of sequins in gold, silver and copper as my finishing touch.

Do you have a favourite crafting product to pair with your STampin' Up! goodies?  I really love these paints and can't wait to try more.

Happy crafting,
Rachel x

Amazing You!

Hi Crafters,

I'm back with an entry for this week's challenge over at the Global Design Project.  I always love checking out the weekly theme there.  I just wish there was an extra day of the week called Craftday!  The theme for GDP121 this week is a colour challenge and it's bright and beautiful!

I had so many ideas for this combo and it took quite a few attempts to decide on my favourite design.  I purchased the Hello Friend stamp set when the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue launched in June last year but I've only just inked it up this week and I'm so glad I did.  It paired perfectly with the new Celebrate You Thinlits dies and Amazing You stamp set available for free with a qualifying order during Sale-A-Bration (SAB).

I actually used Stampin' Markers to colour my wreath image, starting with Peekaboo Peach, then Sweet Sugarplum and finally Bermuda Bay, in a random pattern.  If you use Sweet Sugarplum as the final colour, you will get a muddy result.  I know this from experience!  Don't forget to breath on your image too before stamping - this keeps the ink from drying too quickly.  I also stamped a subtle second generation image which I plan to use on another card.

I stamped the "YOU" sentiment in Smoky Slate to match my die cut which has been sparkled with a wash of the Wink of Stella glitter pen.  This doesn't show up well in photos but looks lovely in real life.  I really recommend using the Multipurpose Liquid Glue for your intricate die cuts - simply follow the shape and keep the flow to a minimum.  Tweezers are also a must-have if you have chubby fingers like me!

If you are new to Stampin' Up! this might be your first Sale-A-Bration.  You're really in for a treat!  If you spend £45, you automatically qualify for a free Level 1 SAB item.  There are several to choose from including stamp sets, ribbon and Designer Series Paper.  However, if your order reaches £90, you can choose a Level 2 item for free.  The items used to make this card (shown in the Supply List at the bottom of this post) will allow you to add both the Amazing You stamp set (Level 1) and the Celebrate You Thinlits dies (Level 2) to your order for free.  If you have any SAB questions or would like to receive free copies of the new Spring/Summer and SAB catalogues, please get in touch via email.  I can send catalogues to France, Germany, Austria, The Netherlands and the UK.

Happy crafting,
Rachel x
