Festive Sunday Inspiration Week 13 - Holly Wreath

Hi crafters,

It's time for the next installment in my Festive Sunday Inspiration series.  You can still catch up on the previous posts, take a look back at the first post.  I will be bringing you a post every Sunday until 29 November featuring festive projects to spark your creativity.  Projects will feature Stampin' Up! products from the August-December 2020 Mini Catalogue and the Annual Catalogue, using a variety of techniques.  If you would like to purchase any of the products for yourself, please visit my online shop which is open 24/7.

I had an idea to use the holly image from the Christmas Gleaming stamp set to create a square wreath.  I used a template I made with my Cricut to place the image in the right place in my Stamparatus and then just stamped and turned the paper each time.

My card base is made from Crumb Cake cardstock and I layered a panel of Gold Foil Sheet on top.  The stamped panel is Whisper White cardstock and measures 4.75" square.  I cut masks for four of the holly images so that I could have a seamless wreath.  Once I had stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, I coloured the images using Stampin' Blends in Old Olive and Real Red.  I added Shimmery Crystal Effects over the berries for some shine.  I die cut the Merry Christmas sentiment from the Word Wishes Dies.

There are only three weeks left now in the Festive Sunday Inspiration Series.  Have you made a start to your Christmas crafting yet or maybe you're all finished - I'd love to know.

Happy crafting, Rachel x

Festive Sunday Inspiration Week 8 - Forever Gold

Hi crafters,

Today is the next installment in my Festive Sunday Inspiration series.  There is still time to catch up though, take a look back at the first post.

I've gone traditional with a modern twist today.  I made this card back in June - I like to get a head start on my Christmas cards and it gives me an excuse to crank up the Christmas tunes!

The gold accents on my card come from the Forever Gold Laser-Cut Specialty Paper which is stunning.  The pack includes 18 die cut panels in six designs and 39 foliage elements.

I started with a top folding card base in Thick Whisper White cardstock.  I added a panel of the Flowers For Every Season Designer Series Paper and then used thin strips of Gold Foil cardstock on either side.  I stamped the sentiment from the Still Scenes stamp set in Versamark ink and then heat embossed in gold.  I cut out the sentiment using the Tasteful Labels dies.  I adhered Stampin' Dimensionals behind the sentiment topper and then placed one of the gold foil elements from the Forever Gold Laser-Cut Specialty Paper behind and then added another layer of Stampin' Dimensionals for extra pop.

Stay tuned for next week's installment which is sure to give you all the festive vibes!

Happy crafting,

Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop - Party

Hi Crafters,

Welcome to the first Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop of 2020.  We hope you've enjoyed all the international inspiration over the last year and we can't wait to share more.  Our theme this month is Party!  I'm not sure why but I've had such a struggle with this theme!  One of my crafty resolutions is to use up the pieces I've already created and this theme helped me out.

I had a "party" playing with the new Pigment Sprinkles a couple of weeks ago and created this background.  The Pigment Sprinkes are powder pigments in six Stampin' Up! colours - Bermuda Bay, Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green, Gorgeous Grape, Mango Melody and Melon Mambo.  I'm always a little hesitant to use up unique backgrounds but this was the perfect piece to showcase my gold embossed sentiment.

I created a card blank from Whisper White cardstock.  I used Shimmery White cardstock for the Pigment Sprinkles panel which is a great cardstock for water-based techniques.  I added Pigment Sprinkles in Bermuda Bay, Gorgeous Grape and Melon Mambo and sprayed generously with water to get the colour moving.  I'm not sure I could ever recreate this particular pattern again!  I dabbed up the excess colour using more background pieces which I'll use for other projects.

I stamped my sentiment from the Everything Amazing stamp set in Versamark and heat embossed with gold embossing powder on Vellum.  I used the Stamparatus to line up the smaller sentiment elements which made it really easy to get a perfect image.  I die cut using the Stitched Nested Labels with the largest sized die.  I added my vellum piece with Liquid Multipurpose Glue and finished with some purple Noble Peacock Rhinestones.

I hope you've been inspired to get partying!  To keep hopping please head to Anastasia's brilliant creation.  If you get lost, there is a roll call list below.

Happy crafting,

Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop - That Little Bit Extra...

Hi Crafters,

Welcome to the latest Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop.  This month we are showcasing the extras in the catalogues - ribbon, sequins, wooden embellishments and all the other wonderful things that five that extra special something to your projects.

I've gone all out bling!  I'm showcasing Stampin' Up! glitter and sequins.  I used the double sided sticky sheets to make my own glitter-filled die cuts.

I created a card blank from Whisper White cardstock and then layered up using Stampin' Dimensionals.  I cut the flowers out by running through the Big Shot four times and then laying the die-cuts back into the space.  I backed with double sided sticky sheets and then added silver, gold and Dazzling Diamonds glitter into the open sticky areas, pressing down to seal.  I cut three of the Happy Birthday Thinlits and layered on top using liquid glue.  My finishing touch was to add the three silver sequins.

I hope you are enjoying our hop that little bit extra this month!  To keep hopping, head over to Courtenay's fabulous creation using the next arrow below.  If you get lost there is a list of all those participating at the end of this post.

Happy crafting,
Rachel x
