Hopping Around The World Blog Hop - Christmas in July

Hi crafters,

The last weekend of every month is the Hopping Around the World Blog Hop and this month is no exception.  We are celebrating Christmas in July for our theme.  I love Christmas so this is a great theme to get into the festive spirit!  If you've hopped from Claudia's post you are on the right track.  There is also a full list of participants at the end of this post if you get lost along the way.  Be sure to let us know you've visited by leaving a comment.

There are so many wonderful new and returning Christmas products in the Stampin' Up! August to December Mini Catalogue.  The catalogue launches on 4 August so not long to wait now.  But don't forget the Annual Catalogue products too and I chose to work with the Birds and Branches stamp set paired with the Woodland Embossing Folder.

I created a card blank with Thick Whisper White cardstock and then added a panel of Whisper White cardstock on top.  I inked up the Woodland Embossing Folder with Balmy Blue ink and then ran another panel of Whisper White cardstock through my machine.  This meant that the ink transferred to the areas between the embossed trees.  I swiped my Soft Suede ink pad over the trees to make them pop.  I cut the panel down with my Layering Circle Dies to create spotlights for my card.

To create the robin I stamped the layers of one of the birds from the Birds and Branches stamp set.  I used inks in Soft Suede, Crumb Cake and Poppy Parade.  I used the co-ordinating dies to cut out the bird and popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals.  Although before adding the bird I splattered some of the Shimmer Paint in Frost White all over the card, including the spotlights.  To finish, I added a sentiment from the Best Year stamp set in Poppy Parade.

I hope you are enjoying the festive inspiration featured in this Christmas in July blog hop.  To keep hopping, head to Sandra's post next.  We would love to know you've visited so don't forget to leave a comment.

Happy crafting,
Rachel x

We Fall In... Colours Blog Hop for July 2020

Hi crafters,

I'm hopping again with the We Fall In... Colours team who are an international group of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators that share inspiration and creativity on a colour theme every month.  If you have come from Anja's post, you are on the right track.  There is also a full list of participants at the end of this post.

This month we are showcasing projects featuring Crushed Curry, Cinnamon Cider and Poppy Parade.  These colours are outside my comfort zone, but when I turned my attention to the Rooted in Nature stamp set everything just clicked into place!

I stamped the skeleton leaves in the three challenge colours - Crushed Curry, Poppy Parade and Cinnamon Cider onto a card base made from half an A4 sheet of Thick Whisper White cardstock.  I ran a panel of Cinnamon Cider cardstock though the Woodland Embossing Folder and then covered the raised portions with Shimmer Paint in Champagne Mist.  I trimmed the panel down and tore along the bottom edge before adhering in the top centre of the card.  I stamped the tree image from the Rooted in Nature stamp set using Stampin' Write Markers in the challenge colours onto Whisper White cardstock and used the co-ordinating Nature's Roots dies to cut it out and layered it up with Stampin' Dimensionals.  I added a sentiment in Cinnamon Cider from the Field of Flowers stamp set.

I hope you are inspired by these colours and I can't wait to see what everyone else has made.  To keep hopping, just click the next button to head to Daniela's post.

Happy crafting,

Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop - 2020-2022 In Colors

Hi crafters,

We've made it to the first Friday of another month and that can mean only one thing - a Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop.  Our theme this month is projects featuring the 2020-2022 In Colors.  If you've hopped from Kimberley Anne's post, you are on the right track.  There is a full list of blog hop participants at the end of this post.

The 2020-2022 In Colors are Bumblebee, Cinnamon Cider, Just Jade, Magenta Madness and Misty Moonlight.  If I was a colour I would definitely be Magenta Madness!  That colour alone makes my heart happy!

I set myself a mini challenge with this theme to make multiple cards.  I actually made over 20 but that might just be too many for one post!  I have six cards to share today and they use the products shown below.

Tasteful Touches Stamp Set

Forever Fern Stamp Set

Best Year Stamp Set

I used Stampin' Up! Note Cards and Envelopes paired with the backgrounds from the Forever Gold Laser-Cut Specialty Paper.  Each card also features one of the Tasteful Labels dies for the sentiments.

For this first card I adhered the gold foil background directly to the note card with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  I stamped the sentiment from the Best Year stamp set in Bumblebee onto one of the Tasteful Labels dies.  I added tails using the 2020-2022 In Color Designer Series Paper and another of the Tasteful Labels Dies.  I cut two of the banners and cut them in half to layer up between four layers of the Whisper White cardstock labels.  I finished this card by adding some Bumblebee 2020-2022 In Color Enamel Dots.

My second card showcases Cinnamon Cider along with a sentiment from the Tasteful Touches stamp set.  This was very simply to put together with some of the DSP layered behind the gold foil background.

I added a stripe of Magenta Madness DSP behind the sentiment for my next card and layered the label up using additional cardstock pieces.  I also ran the Magenta Madness Stampin' Write Marker along the edge of the sentiment label to make it stand out against the background.  I just love that pop of pink!

These are actually my favourite cards of the bunch and they make a great pair in Misty Moonlight.  The card on the left was simply layered using the gold foil die cut, In Color DSP and a sentiment label.  I added some In Color Enamel Dots too.  The card on the right has a full covering of the In Color DSP behind the gold foil background panel.  I added a small heart using the Stitched Be Mine Dies and covered this with Shimmery Crystal Effects.

Lastly, the most simple of the cards and this one features Just Jade.  Once I had adhered the gold foil background panel, I stamped directly onto the Note Card using my Stamparatus and then added some of the In Color Enamel Dots to finish.

I hope these cards have inspired you with the 2020-2022 In Colors.  To keep hopping, just click the next button below to head to Jenn's post.
