Hopping Around the World Blog Hop - Stamping Technique

Hi Crafters,

It's Saturday night so that means only one thing - a Hopping Around the World Blog Hop!  The blog hop features Stampin' Up! demonstrators from Europe, North America and the South Pacific.  I love hopping with such talented demonstrators and always get inspired to get crafty.

Our theme this month is stamping techniques and we've got a fantastic breadth of inspiration for you.  I have chosen water stamping using the Breathtaking Bouquet background stamp.  All you need is ink, paper, stamps and water!  I had a little play to create some unique backgrounds before making three into cards.

I started with pieces of Shimmery White A4 cardstock cut to fit a half sheet of A4 as a card blank.  I used Rococo Rose, Gorgeous Grape, Blueberry Bushel and Pretty Peacock.  This technique works better with darker colours.

I placed the uninked panel onto my glass mat and rubbed an ink pad all over for complete coverage.  I transferred the panel to my Stamparatus which was already set up with the Breathtaking Bouquet background stamp.  I spritzed the stamp with water and then closed the door onto the inked panel.  I pressed pretty hard all over to make sure the design lifted the ink with the water.  The results were far better than I expected!

I created three cards but there's a mystery card among them!

I used different circle punches on the background panel and created the collage.  I embossed the card with the Scripty 3D Embossing Folder.  The sentiment is from the A Little Lace stamp set and was heat embossed in white on Basic Black cardstock.

For this second card, I simply stamped over the water stamping with Versamark ink and then heat embossed in copper.

And now for the mystery card!  This was created from the leftover ink on the orignal Blueberry Bushel background.  I placed a blank panel of Shimmery White cardstock into the Stamparatus and used the excess ink to create this stamped image.  I layered it on top of a piece of See a Silhouette Designer Series Paper which matched perfectly.

I still have two whole backgrounds to create into cards but that will have to wait for another day.  On with the hop you must go!  Head to Mo's post next for more inspiration and maybe you'll discover a new technique too.

Happy crafting,

Rachel x

Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop - Party

Hi Crafters,

Welcome to the first Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop of 2020.  We hope you've enjoyed all the international inspiration over the last year and we can't wait to share more.  Our theme this month is Party!  I'm not sure why but I've had such a struggle with this theme!  One of my crafty resolutions is to use up the pieces I've already created and this theme helped me out.

I had a "party" playing with the new Pigment Sprinkles a couple of weeks ago and created this background.  The Pigment Sprinkes are powder pigments in six Stampin' Up! colours - Bermuda Bay, Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green, Gorgeous Grape, Mango Melody and Melon Mambo.  I'm always a little hesitant to use up unique backgrounds but this was the perfect piece to showcase my gold embossed sentiment.

I created a card blank from Whisper White cardstock.  I used Shimmery White cardstock for the Pigment Sprinkles panel which is a great cardstock for water-based techniques.  I added Pigment Sprinkles in Bermuda Bay, Gorgeous Grape and Melon Mambo and sprayed generously with water to get the colour moving.  I'm not sure I could ever recreate this particular pattern again!  I dabbed up the excess colour using more background pieces which I'll use for other projects.

I stamped my sentiment from the Everything Amazing stamp set in Versamark and heat embossed with gold embossing powder on Vellum.  I used the Stamparatus to line up the smaller sentiment elements which made it really easy to get a perfect image.  I die cut using the Stitched Nested Labels with the largest sized die.  I added my vellum piece with Liquid Multipurpose Glue and finished with some purple Noble Peacock Rhinestones.

I hope you've been inspired to get partying!  To keep hopping please head to Anastasia's brilliant creation.  If you get lost, there is a roll call list below.

Happy crafting,
Rachel x
