As it's the first Friday of the month, the Global Stamping Friends team are showcasing projects in a blog hop. Our theme for October is changing seasons. If you have hopped from Libby's fabulous post, you are on the right track. There is a full list of participants at the end of this post.
At first, I was stumped on what to create for this theme but when I looked at my collection of stamp sets, inspiration came thick and fast. In the end, I've made a shaker card and it was a labour of love! I used the Life is Beautiful stamp set designed by million sales achiever LeeAnn Greff.
I used the tree image and created a shaker window for each of the seasons - Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. The apertures were cut using the Stitched Rectangles Dies.
I started by cutting the windows from a panel of Whisper White cardstock. I placed the panel into my Stamparatus and stamped the trees in Soft Suede ink. I stamped the images on the back panel at this point too. I added a layer of Window Sheet to the back of the panel with the cut outs. Next I took the individual stamps for the "leaves" and added these using an acrylic block. I used Flirty Flamingo (2nd generation) for Spring, Garden Green and Daffodil Delight for Summer, Cajun Craze for Autumn and Balmy Blue for Winter. I covered the back of the front panel using Foam Adhesive Strips. I added co-ordinating sequins (see below for details) to each of the stamped seasons and then placed the foam-backed front panel on top. I definitely held my breath for a moment! I stamped the sentiment in Soft Suede ink to finish. I didn't ground the trees at this point as I was scared to mess up after all that work!
