A Special Reason

Hi Crafters,

I have been playing with some Stampin' Up! reinkers and I've made quite a few different patterns.  Today's card features a background made using reinkers in Cherry Cobbler, Night of Navy and Daffodil Delight.  I have also used the Special Reason stamp set and matching thinlits dies.

To create the background I dotted the reinkers onto a Tim Holtz felt pad and then applied with light tapping all over the Whisper White cardstock.  I added some washi tape from the Floral Boutique range and then arranged my stamped and die cut images on top.

Don't forget that this is the last few hours of Sale-A-Bration.  You can earn free products with every £45 you spend.  Be sure to check out my store before this fabulous offer ends.  You could add the Make a Medallion stamp set to your order for free!

Thank You - Resist Technique

Hi Crafters,

Today's card was inspired by Stampin' Up! CEO Sara Douglass.  Sara showed a cool resist technique on her Facebook page last week and I couldn't wait to try it out.  I even made my own Designer Series Paper.  I hadn't used the Garden in Bloom set before but I was absolutely hooked after my first image was stamped perfectly.  I chose to showcase the outgoing In Colors for 2015-17 as I 'm so sad to see them go.  Although, I 'm sure the new In Colors for 2017-19 will be awesome.  Here is the Garden in Bloom set in more detail and you can really see how the two-step layers could be used:

My card started with a piece of Whisper White card and I stamped the images from Garden in Bloom, some in first generation and some in second generation to give real depth.  Once I was happy with the stamped images, I inked the Brushstrokes stamp in Versamark and added clear embossing powder to create a resist.  I used a sponge dauber to add the Mint Macaron inked detail.

I love how this turned out and will definitely be trying this technique again.  I hope you enjoyed this card.  If there is a technique that you want me to showcase next, be sure to leave a comment.

Happy crafting,

Welcome Baby

Hi Crafters,

I'm back again and this time I have a super simple baby card.  I wanted to use some of the gorgeoous patterned paper produced by Stampin' Up! but in a different way.  I added extra interest with a doily which come at a great price and you get loads!

I created the main sentiment using one of Stampin' Up!'s two-step stamp sets.  This one is called Vertical Garden and matches beautifully with a stunning succulent shadow box kit.  I used the Sending Love Designer Series Paper and co-ordinated the red hearts with a trio of sequins.

You're a Gem

Hi Crafters,

Another day, another card!  I am trying to use the stamps that haven't seen any ink yet this year!  This card features a stamped image from the Just Keep Swimming set.  I've created my main focal point using just one of the small images from the set.

I took inspiration from Barbara Gray for this style of pattern building and chose to use my signature colour combo - pink, black and white.    Do you have any stamp sets still waiting for their first covering of ink?

Happy crafting,
Rachel x
