Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop - Twisted

Hi Crafters,

It's that time again for another Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop.  We are an international group of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators who love to share our passion for all things papercraft.  This month our blog hop theme is Twisted!  Ooh!  I'm sure the team will have some amazing creations for you so keep hopping!  If you've come from the talented Jenn's blog, you are twisting on the right track.

I had a few attempts at making a twisted themed card but none were twisted enough for my liking!  In the end I settled for a twisted easel featuring products from the Follow Your Art Suite.

I started with a 5" square card base in Thick Whisper White cardstock and scored a diagonal line on the front to create the twist.  I embossed a piece of Coastal Cabana cardstock with the Button Button Embossing Folder.  I had to extend the embossing as the cardstock was bigger than my folder.  To do this I ran the cardstock through as normal and then moved the paper so that the blank portion was only within the folder.  I sandwiched the embossing folder between my cutting plates making sure that the edge of the embossing folder was just poking out from the ends of the plates.  This means that when you emboss you don't end up with a harsh line from the plates on your cardstock.  I did the same for the base panel.

I popped up a piece of Follow Your Art Designer Series Paper using fun foam after adding a piece of Braided Linen Trim.  I attached the bow separately with a glue dot.  The Thank You Die sentiment was created from three layers of Coastal Cabana cardstock glued together with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  I coated the sentiment in a layer of Wink of Stella clear shimmer.

I created a stopper for my twisted easel using the stacked ribbon spools image from the It Starts With Art Stamp Set, stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured using Stampin' Blends in Crumb Cake and Calypso Coral to match the DSP.  I also used a Coastal Cabana Stampin' Write Marker as there is no Stampin' Blend available in that colour.  I used the co-ordinating Arts & Crafts Dies to die cut the image and then cut another from fun foam to give dimension.  I glued the stopper in place with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  I will write a personal message on the base of the card so that it can't be seen when the card is on display.

I hope you are enjoying our Twisted Blog Hop and try some of these techniques for yourself.  To keep hopping, click the Next arrow below to head to Tricia's awesome creation.

Happy crafting,
