Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop - Sweets and Treats

Hi crafters,

It's the first Friday of the month and that means a Global Stamping Friends blog hop.  We are a group of international Stampin' Up! Demonstrators who love to share our passion for creativity through our monthly hops.  I'm one of the European demos, based in the UK.  This month's theme is Sweets and Treats!  If you've come from Jan's brilliant post, you are on the right track.  There is also a full list of participants at the end of this post.  

I really wanted to think outside the box for this theme and I'm so pleased with how my project turned out.  Even though I forgot to emboss the background before I attached the sweets!  Oh well, I'll just have to make another one!

I used the Circle Celebration stamp set and stamped one of the dotty images in rainbow colours onto Basic White cardstock using inks in Melon Mambo, Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green, Pacific Point and Gorgeous Grape.  I added some tone on tone blending with the Blending Brushes to make the circles appear curved.  Next, I used one of the Layering Circle Dies to cut out the stamped image and then edged the die cut with the co-ordinating Stampin' Write Marker.  I then used an embossing tool to dome the circles for added dimension.  I pulled out the Stitched Triangle Dies and cut two each in co-ordinating cardstock.  I originally attached the triangles to the circle using one Stampin' Dimensional but this meant that one of the triangle didn't have anywhere to stick so I ended up placing a dot of Multipurpose Liquid Glue between the layers to make sure the triangles were securely attached.  I added the sweets onto my card panel in rainbow order.  I stamped the sentiment from the Brushed Blooms stamp set in Versamark ink onto Basic Black cardstock and then poured on white embossing powder before tapping off the excess.  I heated the powder with my heat tool until it was smooth and melted and then trimmed the strip to size.  I attached it with some more Stampin' Dimensionals.  Finally I added a layer of shimmer to each of the circles using a Wink of Stella brush pen.

But I also have a bonus card featuring the Cute Fruit stamp set.  I think any kind of just because card is a treat in the mail.  

I cut a panel of Basic White cardstock to size and then stamped the orange image in Pumpkin Pie ink all over to create a background.  I ran the panel through the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder for added texture.  I stamped each of the fruit images onto Basic White cardstock and then fussy cut out.  I used lots of Stamping Dimensionals to create the look that the fruit was popping off the page.  To create the sentiment I stamped in Garden Green ink onto Basic White cardstock and then cut out using the Layering Circle Dies.  I offset the circle and trimmed off the excess before attaching to the card base.  To finish, I used a small heart die cut from the Stitched Be Mine Dies and coloured using the Dark Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Blend Marker.
