Beauty of the Earth Suite from Stampin' Up!

Hi crafters,

I am sharing a card featuring new products from the Stampin' Up! 2021-2022 Annual Catalogue today.  In particular I've used the Beauty of the Earth Suite which features on pages 10 & 11 of the catalogue.  The suite comprises the Beauty of Friendship Stamp Set (13 photopolymer images), Beautiful Trees Dies (9 dies), Beauty of the Earth 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper and the Bark 3D Embossing Folder.

I tried a new to me fun fold and created a z-fold card.  I had far more trouble with this simple design than you can ever imagine but I got there in the end!  I pre-make all my card bases to I just had to score the centre of the front of the card to create the z-fold.

I adhered two panels of the Beauty of the Earth DSP to the inside and front flap.  This paper is gorgeous in real life and can be used for a variety of projects, including Christmas.  Is it too early to mention the C word?!  Next I stamped the tree image in Soft Suede, Cajun Craze, Merry Merlot and Sahara Sand.  I trimmed the panel down and adhered to a layer of Soft Suede cardstock.  I used the new Scalloped Contours Dies with Cajun Craze cardstock for the topper base.  I can see me getting a lot of use out of these dies.  Finally I added the sentiment from the Beauty of Friendship stamp set in Merry Merlot.  I used the Cajun Craze Stampin' Write Marker to line the edges of the sentiment strip.

I'd love to know what you think of this suite - is it your cup of tea or do you prefer a completely different style?  Let me know by leaving a comment below.

Global Stampin Friends Blog Hop - Fancy Fold

Hi crafters,

It's the turn of the Global Stamping Friends for another fantastic blog hop.  We are a group of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from all over the world, bringing you creative inspiration every month.  This month our theme is Fancy Fold.  The possibilities are endless!  If you've hopped from the wonderful Jan, you are on the right path.  There is also a full list of participants listed later in this post.

I'll be honest and confess that I made the project for next month by mistake!  Oops!  So I've gone with an oldie but a goodie for my fancy fold - a diamond pop out card.  It's really easy to make and can be customised for any occasion.

To start you need a piece of cardstock that measures 4" by 12" and you score at 2", 4", 8" and 10".  Next you highlight the 6" point with a small pencil mark.  Then you score from the top pencil mark to the bottom outer score line, turn and repeat until you have scored all four areas.  The following picture might help!

For this card I started with a piece of Blackberry Bliss cardstock and had planned to use the gorgeous Magic in this Night Designer Series Paper but I ended up using the Cobwebs 3D Embossing Folder instead.  I embossed each end of the fancy fold card, keeping the centre flat.  I added some Glittered Organdy Ribbon in black to tie in with the inked spiders.  The centre panel was mat and layered with Whisper White cardstock and Blackberry Bliss cardstock.  I used the Playful Alphabet Dies to cut out the word BOO and added this with Foam Adhesive.  I stamped three of the spider images from the Hallows Night Magic stamp set with Black Stazon ink onto Whisper White cardstock and used the co-ordinating Halloween Magic dies to cut them out.  I glue two spiders flat to the central panel and raised one up with a small piece of the leftover Foam Adhesive Sheet from the middle of the die cut letters.

My second card (because one fancy fold card is never enough!) is a super simple Christmas design.  I started with Whisper White cardstock and layered pieces of the 'Tis The Season DSP to the sides and centre.  The side panels were 3.75" by 1.75" and the centre piece was a 2.5" square.  I used one of the Wonder of the Season Memories & More Card Pack cards and fussy cut the sentiment from the middle.  I attached this with Stampin' Dimensionals.  I traced the lettering with a coat of Wink of Stella but this really doesn't show up in the photos.  When these cards are folded up, they will fit into a 4" envelope.

I hope you are enjoying our fancy folds and have a try yourself.  Let us know in the comments which is your favourite fancy fold.  To keep hopping, click the Next arrow below to head to the brilliant Lisa Ann.
