We Fall In... Colours Blog Hop for August 2020

Hi crafters,

I'm hopping again and this time it's the turn of the We Fall In... Colours team.  We are an international group of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators who love to share our passion for creativity through colour.  If you've come from Diana's post you are on the right track.  There is a full list of participants at the end of this post.

This month we are showcasing projects made using Night of Navy, Mossy Meadow and Mint Macaron.  I really wasn't sure what theme to pair with this colour combo as there were so many possibilities but I love how my card turned out using the Wreath Builder Dies.

I started with a panel of Whisper White cardstock and the dotty mask from the Basic Patterns Decorative Masks.  I first inked through with Mint Macaron and then shifted the mask so that the open spaces lined up between the inked dots.  I inked again in Night of Navy, adding some lighter and darker patches to create interest.  I used the Wreath Builder dies to create the focal element.  I used one of the wreath dies to cut from Mossy Meadow and Mint Macaron cardstocks and then offset these using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  I didn't adhere all the leaves so that they would create texture.  I made three flowers from two layers Night of Navy cardstock cut from one of the flower dies from the Wreath Builder set.  I folded each petal around the shaft of my pokey tool from the Take Your Pick Tool and then added pearls in the centre to finish.  I stamped the sentiment from the Lovely You stamp set and used the matching Lovely Labels Pick a Punch to create a label, adding a layer of Night of Navy cardstock behind.  I used Stampin' Dimensionals behind the sentiment label to pop it up on the front of the card.

I hope you are enjoying our colours for this month and have found inspiration in our posts.  Don't forget to leave a comment so we know you've visited.  To keep hopping, click the next button below to head to Petra's post.

Global Stampin Friends Blog Hop - Favourite Bundle

Hi crafters,

I'm so excited for this month's Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop because the theme is our favourite bundle.  We hop on the first Friday of every month so make sure to check back for more inspiration from a wonderful group of international Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrators.  If you have come from Amanda's post you are on the right track.  Keep hopping!

There are quite a few bundles which I could call my favourite!  Bundles have perfectly co-ordinating stamps and dies or stamps and punches.  However, the best feature is that you save 10% when you buy them together.  It's a win win!  I decided that the All Things Fabulous Bundle was the favourite at this time!  The All Things Fabulous stamp set features 26 stamps, including four sentiments.  There are also 15 co-ordinating dies in the Fabulous Florals Dies.

I've created two cards for the challenge and I really can't pick a favourite!  The first is pretty simple and showcases the flowers in Smoky Slate, Misty Moonlight and Night of Navy.  The second is a little more complex using die cuts to create a background, in addition to a stamped flower featuring So Saffron, Bumblebee and Cinnamon Cider inks.

I started by creating a card base from Smoky Slate cardstock.  I stamped my greeting which is from the Best Year stamp set in Night of Navy onto a panel of Whisper White cardstock.  I stamped the flowers which have three layering stamps for each flower in Smoky Slate, Misty Moonlight and Night of Navy.  I definitely used the Stamparatus for the stamping!  I die cut the two largest Stitched Circle dies from Whisper White cardstock and to create a frame for the sentiment.  I used the Foam Adhesive Strips to give dimension behind the frame.  I attached my flowers with smaller pieces of the Foam Adhesive Strips and some Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  To finish I added three clear Elegant Faceted Gems.

For my second card, I created a base card from Thick Whisper White cardstock as I needed more stability for the many layers.  I used the border die in the Fabulous Florals dies and cut this multiple times from So Saffron cardstock.  I adhered the die cuts with Multipurpose Liquid Glue and then added a thin cardstock strip in Cinnamon Cider to finish off at the top.  My flower was stamped in So Saffron, Bumblebee and Cinnamon Cider and the leaves also in Cinnamon Cider.  I added the sentiment from the All Things Fabulous stamp set in Bumblebee ink.

We would love to know your favourite bundle so leave us a comment below.  To keep hopping, just click the next arrow to head to Anastasia's post.

Life is Beautiful Slimline Card with Stampin' Up! Products

Hi crafters,

I've jumped on the slimline card trend and made an entry for the latest challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches.  Challenge FMS446 is to create a slimline card as shown below.  This provided so many creative opportunities and I knew I had to play along.

I started by creating a card base from Thick Whisper White cardstock which measured 8.5" by 7", scored at 3.5".  I cut a panel of Whisper White cardstock slightly smaller than the card base and used this for my ink blending.  I masked off the four sides with repositionable tape (washi tape should also work) and then blended inks in Calypso Coral, Cajun Craze and Pretty Peacock with blending brushes.  I sprayed and flicked some water over the top and dabbed off with kitchen roll.  The leaf image came from the Life is Beautiful stamp set designed by million sales achiever LeeAnn Greff and will be available in the Autumn/Winter Mini Catalogue from 4 August.  Not long to wait now!  This is a pretty stamp set featuring a tree as it's focal element and covers all the seasons.

The sentiment is also from the Life is Beautiful stamp set and I inked this with Versamark ink, added gold embossing powder and melted with my heat tool.  I adhered the panel with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

I would like to enter this card into the Freshly Made Sketches challenge 446.

Happy crafting,
Rachel x
