Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop - Meant To Be

Hi crafters,

It's the turn of the Global Stamping Friends to host our first blog hop for 2021.  We are a group of international Stampin' Up! Demonstrators who love to share our passion for creativity through our monthly hops.  This month's theme is Meant To Be!  We were given a brief to pick a new product that is just meant to be for you!  We could also create a project highlighting Valentine's Day, weddings or anniversaries.  If you have come from June's fabulous post, you are on the right track.  There is also a full list of participants at the end of this post.

I chose to use my favourite bundle from the new Stampin' Up! January-June Mini Catalogue - Snailed It!

I love those cute images and the mini envelope was a genius idea!  I love mushrooms too so this was the perfect set to kick off 2021.  I created a slimline card featuring three of the main images from the stamp set.

I made a 8.5" by 3.5" card base from Thick Whisper White Cardstock.  If you haven't heard yet, Stampin' Up! is replacing its Whisper White products with a new Basic White.  The paper milll that produced Whisper White has closed due to the Pandemic.  There have been some delays with the new cardstock but hopefully it'll be available soon.   I'm excited to try it out.

I stamped the three images (snail, happy mail insert and mushroom cluster) from the Snailed It stamp set using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then die cut using the co-ordinating Snail Dies.  I coloured the images using Stampin' Write Markers from the Neutrals, Brights and Regals collections.  The Happy Mail insert can be removed from the mini envelope to show the stamped and coloured envelope image.  I created the mini envelope from the Snail Dies using the Oh So Ombre 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper.  This is a free Sale-a-Bration item and can be added to an order of £45 or more.  Since one side of each double-sided sheet is plain ombre, this allows for so many techniques.  I have a couple coming up soon so stay tuned.

I cut squares using the Layering Squares dies from Whisper White, Poppy Parade, Blackberry Bliss and Coastal Cabana cardstock and placed the stamped images on top using Stampin' Dimensionals.  Finally I added small clusters of dots in the background using the co-ordinating Stampin' Write Markers in Poppy Parade, Granny Apple Green and Blackberry Bliss.

I hope you are enjoying our Meant To Be hop and to keep hopping click on the next arrow below to view Jan's great post

Stampin' Up! January - June 2021 Mini Catalogue Favourites

Hi crafters,

It's an exciting day at Little Lane Crafts as the new Stampin' Up! January - June 2021 Mini Catalogue has launched and it's packed with great products and inspiration.  I've compiled a list of my favourites for you to peruse.  You can check out the online version of the catalogue or request a hard copy by sending me your address in an email.  My email address is at the top of my blog page.  Alternatively, you can contact me on Facebook at Little Lane Crafts.

So onto my favourites from the mini catalogue and I've narrowed it down to just 10!  It's a tough job but somebody's gotta do it!  Demonstrators were able to pre-order early in December and I've had so much fun playing over the Christmas holidays.  Get ready for lots more blog posts and maybe even my first You Tube video!

January-June 2021 Mini Catalogue Favourites

You might have spotted a cheeky Sale-A-Bration item in my list - Oh So Ombre 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper!  The SAB catalogue also launched today and it's packed with fantastic free products with qualifying orders but only until 28 February 2021.  For each £45 you spend, you can chose a free Level 1 item.  If you spend £90, you can chose a Level 2 item.  There is no limit to the number of free items you can earn so start shopping and saving today at my online store.

I also have a card project to share using the Floating and Fluttering Bundle.  Every bundle in any of the Stampin' Up! catalogues includes a 10% saving.

I went for a simple design to showcase the butterfly images which were heat embossed in gold for the background.  I added a pop of colour with Blackberry Bliss accents too.  There are no sentiments in the Floating and Fluttering stamp set so I chose to use the Heal Your Heart stamp set from the SAB catalogue.

Happy crafting,
