Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop - Spring

Hi Crafters,

As it's the first Friday of the month I'm back with another Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop.  We are an international group of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators who love to share our creative makes with you.  This month's theme is Spring and I've chosen to showcase a Mother's Day project.

I created a mini-book album and a Mother's Day handbag which I plan to fill with crystallised ginger as that is my Mam's favourite.  I've used lots of pictures of my niece to complete the album and each page is different.

I used the Dressed to Impress bundle to create the handbag from Purple Posy cardstock.  I added handles made from the Best Dressed 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper and used this same pattern throughout the album.  I stamped the greeting in Lovely Lipstick onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock and placed inside the pocket on the front of the handbag.  I masked the greeting in three stages to change it from a landscape to portrait orientation.

The mini album is made using five 3" x 3" card blanks matted onto Purple Posy and Blackberry Bliss layers to match the colours of the DSP.  These layers were 3.25" and 3.5" card blanks.  I put my niece's initials on the front using the Hand-Lettered Prose Dies and covered them with a layer of Wink of Stella shimmer.  I used the Coastal Weave 3D Embossing Folder on a number of the pages for texture.  I also used the Stitched Shapes Dies and the Layering Circle Dies for the photos and some layering.  I added hearts to nearly all of the layouts using the Stitched Be Mine Dies.  These were really handy as there were so many hearts in the one set.

I attached the card blanks with Tear and Tape on the outer edge only so that the middle would remain loose.  I cut two pieces of Blackberry Bliss cardstock at 3.75" square and added these to the front and back of the album.  However, I actually remembered to put the ribbon on using Tear and Tape before attaching the panels.  This had been a worry from the start!  The album can be opened completely and retied to form a star.

I hope you are enjoying our Spring blog hop and to keep hopping, just click the next arrow below to head to Kimberley's fabulous creation.

Happy crafting,
Rachel x
