Creating a Landscape Using Stampin' Up! Products

Hi Crafters,

I saw the current challenge over at the Global Design Project and had a ready-made entry all set to share!  I created this card a couple of weeks ago but with all the essay deadlines, I've been a bit lax in posting!  The end of studying is in sight with only two submissions left - I really can't wait!

I combined the Flowering Desert stamp set from the Spring/Summer Catalogue and the Waterfront stamp set from the Annual Catalogue.

Unfortunately the Flowering Desert stamp set is retiring on 3 June but you can still snap it up while stocks last.  Simply head to my online store using the link on the right to get yours.

This card is all about the stamping.  I started by brayering the background in Blueberry Bushel and Grapefruit Grove on Whisper White cardstock.  This was light enough that I could stamp the cactus in Garden Green over the top with no discoloration.  I then masked off the cactus using a Post-it Note and stamped the hills in Early Espresso and the shadows on the land in Grapefruit Grove.   I finished off with a sentiment in Blueberry Bushel.  The card base is made from Crumb Cake and I embossed the front using the Subtle embossing folder.  I added Stampin' Dimensionals to my topper to give it some lift.

I would like to enter this card into the Global Design Project Challenge 187 - Create a Landscape.

Happy crafting,

Global Design Project - Colour Challenge

Hi,

I am feeling so inspired with all the lovely new products in the Stampin' Up! Spring/Summer catalogue.  I have chosen to use just a couple in my card today.  Can you spot them?!

The lovely team at the Global Design Project have a colour challenge this week and I have used this as the basis for my card.

A fun colour combo and one to really get the creative juices flowing.  This is my take on the challenge:-

My background was a bit of a happy accident!  I stamped the biggest flower from Penned and Painted on Crumb Cake cardstock and then held the Aqua Painter above until a drop of water fell onto the centre of each flower.  Then you have to be patient and let the water dry completely.  The centres became lighter in colour and looked more watercoloured.

I added one of new doilies from the S/S catalogue to the corners but coloured it using an Early Espresso marker and then added my Wink of Stella clear pen.  It really sparkles and always gives me a buzz when I see the shimmer.

To create the centre topper, I cut a frame from the Stitched framelits in Real Red cardstock and then added my heat embossed sentiment from Suite Sentiments to a circle of vellum.  Finally I added another flower with a gem coloured in Real Red to match.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenge:

Global Design Project 065 - Colour Challenge (#GDP065)

Happy crafting,
Rachel
