Global Design Project Challenge #258 Entry - Sketch

Hi crafters,

I have an entry for the Global Design Project sketch theme this week which is a great triptych design.

I started with a half sheet of A4 Thick Whisper White cardstock for my card base.  I used the Stitched Lace panel die to cut from Seaside Spray cardstock.  The new Stampin' Cut & Emboss machine handled this intricate die with ease.  I was very impressed.  I cut the panel down into three sections and adhered with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  I used the Wreath Builder Dies to cut from Whisper White cardstock twice, offsetting to give a fuller look.  I added a stacked die cut thanks sentiment from the Well Written Dies in Night of Navy and covered the sentiment in a layer of Wink of Stella for shimmer.  If you are not into stamping, this card would be a great way to use lots of die cuts.

I would like to enter this card into the Global Design Project Challenge #258 - Sketch.

Happy crafting,

Floral Friend Card with Stampin' Up!

Hi crafters,

I have a floral friend card for you today.  It features the retiring Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper (DSP) so if you want to get your hands on any of the current patterned papers, shop before 2 June 2020.  They are all while stocks last.

I started with a half sheet of Thick Whisper White cardstock to make a side-folding card blank.  I added two panels of the Magnolia Lane DSP which had been left over from another project.  I cut the large poppy from the Poppy Moments dies in Petal Pink and Whisper White cardstock.  I coloured the outline die cut with the dark Petal Pink Stampin' Blend.  I glued all the pieces back together with Multipurpose Liquid Glue and ran the die cut though the Subtle Embossing Folder for added texture.  I cut the leaves from Mossy Meadow cardstock and then added a layer of dark Mossy Meadow Stampin' Blends to the bottom layer.  The ribbon came from the Ornate Garden Ribbon Combo Pack.  I traced the outline of the friend die onto vellum and cut out with Paper Snips before added the die cut in Cajun Craze on top with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  I finished off by adding three Metallic Pearls in gold.

Happy crafting,
Rachel x

We Fall In...Colours Blog Hop

Hi Crafters,

It's time to hop again with a Blog Hop from the We Fall In... Colours team.  We are an international group of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators who love to share our passion for creativity through colour.  If you've come from Conni's blog, you are on the right track.  A full list of participants is shown at the end of this post if you get lost along the way.

This month's colour challenge features Sahara Sand, Mint Macaron and Soft Suede.

Another colour palette that is outside my comfort zone but I went with it and ended up making two cards again!  I think this could be a running theme!

For my first card I started with a panel of Soft Suede cardstock and stamped the leaf image from the Positive Thoughts stamp set in Whisper White ink.  Wiping the surface of the stamp between every three or four impressions avoids a build up of ink and allows for a crisper image.  It is also important to heat set the ink with a heat tool as it stays wet much longer than regular Stampin' Up! inks.  I used Nature's Thoughts Dies to create the vellum panel for my die cut leaf which was stamped with Mint Macaron ink.  I added a stacked friend sentiment from the Well Written Dies and finished off by wrapping some Linen Thread around the spine of the card and tying in a knot to balance out the sentiment.

My second card is quite different but still works with the colour scheme.  I created a panel of Whisper White card and ran this through my embossing machine with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder, attaching to my card base with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  I added a strip of Mint Macaron card to the bottom third to ground my topper.  My main image came from the Wildly Happy stamp set and was stamped in Soft Suede on Fluid 100 Watercolour Paper.  I used an Aqua Painter to draw out the colour and add extra depth to the elephants.  I used the 2 1/4" and 2" circle punches to place under my image.  The sentiment is from the Positive Thoughts stamp set which I used above.  I did some stamp surgery so that I could stamp Hugs on its own.  I stamped this in Soft Suede on Sahara Sand cardstock and then used the Stitched Rectangles to cut it out before mounting on Mint Macaron cardstock.

I hope you're enjoying this month's blog hop featuring Sahara Sand, Mint Macaron and
Soft Suede.  To keep hopping, head to Melanie's post or click the next button below.
