Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop - That Little Bit Extra...

Hi Crafters,

Welcome to the latest Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop.  This month we are showcasing the extras in the catalogues - ribbon, sequins, wooden embellishments and all the other wonderful things that five that extra special something to your projects.

I've gone all out bling!  I'm showcasing Stampin' Up! glitter and sequins.  I used the double sided sticky sheets to make my own glitter-filled die cuts.

I created a card blank from Whisper White cardstock and then layered up using Stampin' Dimensionals.  I cut the flowers out by running through the Big Shot four times and then laying the die-cuts back into the space.  I backed with double sided sticky sheets and then added silver, gold and Dazzling Diamonds glitter into the open sticky areas, pressing down to seal.  I cut three of the Happy Birthday Thinlits and layered on top using liquid glue.  My finishing touch was to add the three silver sequins.

I hope you are enjoying our hop that little bit extra this month!  To keep hopping, head over to Courtenay's fabulous creation using the next arrow below.  If you get lost there is a list of all those participating at the end of this post.

Happy crafting,

Petal Palette Collage

Hi Crafters,

I'm back with my favourite all time Stampin' Up! stamp set!  You guessed it - Petal Palette.  There is just so much versatility in this set and I've not even scratched the surface yet!
Today's card is one that I kept thinking about making and finally I've sat down and got creative.  I looks slightly like what I had in mind but they rarely turn out exactly as I've pictured.

I created a card blank in Fresh Fig cardstock and used Crumb Cake for my background which was stamped in Archival Basic Black using the bird image from the Petal Palette stamp set.  I ran this through the Ruffled Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder which creates a 3D effect.  Next I layered up my focal elements - half a doily inked in Fresh Fig, a punch Decorative Ribbon Border in Fresh Fig and two of the largest circles from the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits Dies set.  I stamped the bird again in Fresh Fig and fussy cut using small scissors and then layered onto a Very Vanilla scalloped circle.

Dont' forget to use the Host Code on the right if you are placing an order under £150.  You will receive an extra special something from me too!  If you have any questions, you can reach me by email or on Facebook or Instagram.

Happy crafting,

Sharing Friendship's Sweetest Thoughts

Hi Crafters,

Today is a momentous day!  Not only has April arrived but I have cut into and used my Designer Series Paper (DSP)!  I have stacks of the stuff but I never want to cut it up and even when I do, I'm never sure how to incorporate it into my cards.  Confessions of a crafter!

I used a new stamp set from the Stampin' Up! Spring/Summer Catalogue called Friendship's Sweetest Thoughts which I was immediately drawn to when the catalogue first launched.

I love the delicacy of the images in this set and they can be used for so many occasions.  My sentiment actually came from a Sale-A-Bration stamp set (Eclectic Expressions) but you could easily use another.

I created a card blank from Crushed Curry cardstock and then used a slightly smaller piece run through the Layered Leaves 3D Textured Impressions Embossing Folder for my first layer.  I added a panel of the Whole Lot of Lovely Designer Series Paper which was lined with just a hint of the Decorative Ribbon Border Punch in Fresh Fig.  I layered my topper image using Pool Party cardstock.  As I knew I would be adding water to colour my image, I used Shimmery White cardstock for my focal element.  I stamped in Archival Basic Grey and let it dry for a couple of minutes before using my Aqua Painters to pick up the ink from the lid of the ink pads in Crushed Curry, Fresh Fig, Bermuda Bay and Pool Party.

I hope you like this card and don't be afraid to chop up your DSP!  Look out for more projects featuring gorgeous Stampin' Up! DSP soon!

Happy crafting,
