Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop - Outdoors

Hi Crafters,

I'm am delighted to be participating in another exciting Blog Hop with the Global Stamping Friends team.  We are a group of international Stampin' Up! Demonstrators who love to share our creativity with you every month.  This month our theme is outdoors.  So many wonderful possibilities, especially with the launch of the new Annual Stampin' Up! catalogue for 2020-21 this week.  If you've hopped from Amanda's post, you are on the right track.  Stick with us for lots more inspiration to come and all the bloggers on the hop are listed below if you get lost.

I decided to use one of my favourite stamp sets, Beautiful Moments, designed by Jacque Williams for reaching the 1m in sales milestone.  I adore the single female image in this set and have used it for two cards today.

I started my first card by creating a card blank using Thick Whisper White cardstock using half of an A4 sheet.  I stamped the main image in third generation Sahara Sand ink to allow for a no-line watercolour look using Stampin' Classic Ink Pads and an Aqua Painter.  I used the Fluid 100 Watercolour paper for this technique as it will stand up to a lot of water.  I applied inks in Highland Heather, Mango Melody, Old Olive, Blackberry Bliss, Crumb Cake and Petal Pink.  This was a really simple image to colour and using the wet on wet technique was also helpful.  I added some ink blending to create a sky with Balmy Blue and more defined grass area with Old Olive inks.  I finished with a sentiment from the Very Versailles stamp set in Blackberry Bliss.  I cut the panel out using the Stitched Rectangle dies and adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals.

My second card is a little different but uses the same image.  I created my card base from Whisper White cardstock and then adhered a panel of Grey Granite cardstock.  I applied inks in Granny Apple Green, Gorgeous Grape and Bermuda Bay to my glass mat and then spritzed with water.  I pressed my cardstock into the ink and smooshed to create the background.  I stamped the main image in Versamark ink onto vellum and heat embossed in white.  I used the Stitched Rectangle dies to cut out the image.  I hid Multipurpose Liquid Glue behind the embossed lines and butterfly.  I added a sentiment from the Beautiful You stamp set (retired) but you could easily switch out this sentiment for another.  I used the Stitched Rectangles Dies for the sentiment too.  To finish, I added three tiny butterflies from the Butterfly Beauty Dies in Purple Posy cardstock, adhering with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

I hope you are inspired by our outdoor theme this month and to keep hopping just click the next button below to head to the talented June's post.  There is a full list of participants below in case you get lost along the way.

Happy crafting,
