Stampin' Up! Delightfully Detailed Laser-Cut Specialty Paper Day 5

Hi Crafters,

Thanks for joining me for Day 5 of the Delightfully Detailed Laser-Cut Specialty Paper feature.   There is still time to catch up on Day 1, Day 2, Day 3 and especially Day 4 which is related to today's project.

This is a very simple card but the sparkle detail really makes a statement.  I used the leftover piece of DSP which had Shimmery White Embossing Paste applied all over as the background and then added Rhinestones to the centres of each flower design.  I cut a piece of Powder Pink Shimmer Ribbon and attached this behind a layered Pretty Label Punch.  The shadow was created using two punched shapes in Whisper White.  My sentiment came from the brand new A Big Thank You stamp set which is definitely a must-have for any crafter.  The card was made using a Berry Burst card blank.

Here is a look at both cards together.  I just love the versatility of this DSP and the extended use by adding the Shimmery White Embossing Paste.

Have you tried the embossing pastes from Stampin' Up! yet?  There are three colours to choose from and they add great texture and dimension without the weight so they are perfect for posting.

Happy crafting,

Petal Palette Watercolour Birthday

Hi Crafters,

It was my Mam's birthday at the end of February and today I'm sharing the card I made to celebrate.

I created a card blank using Berry Burst cardstock to really make the flower pop.  Taking a piece of Shimmery White cardstock, I heat embossed the floral image from the Petal Palette stamp set in clear embossing powder and then used an Aqua Painter to fill the images with Berry Burst and Old Olive ink.  My sentiment was cut from vellum using the Happy Birthday Thinlits Die and I finished the card off with some iridescent sequins.

You only have a couple of days left to take advantage of Sale-A-Bration.  For every £45 you spend, you can chose a free product.  If you have any questions, please send me an email and I'll get straight back to you.

Happy crafting,

Autumn/Winter Stampin' Up! 2017 Catalogue - Berry Burst Pillowbox

Hi Crafters,

I'm back with my second post of the Autumn/Winter Stampin' Up! 2017 catalogue launch.  This post features a 3D project which is perfect for gift giving and so easy to make.  First of all, let's look at the Tags and Trimmings stamp set and Trim Your Stocking Thinlits Dies I used to create the pillowbox.  You can purchase the stamps and dies together and save 10%.

To create the pillowbox, I cut two of the pillowbox dies in Berry Burst cardstock, to make a front and back.  I cut off the two top tabs and also the sides of one of the die cuts.  Next I folded along all the score lines, being careful at the corners.  I used Tear and Tape to adhere the front and back pieces together.

The decoration was created from a piece of Whisper White cardstock, stamped in Berry Burst (2nd generation) with the snowflake image from the Tags and Trimmings stamp set.  I added a piece of silver 1/8" ribbon and wrapped this around the pillowbox.  The tag is also created from the same die set and I attached the bow using a Glue Dot.  The finished pillowbox measures 3.5" by 2.5".

These pillowboxes are super easy to make and can be decorated to match any present.  Why not add the wow factor to your gifts by presenting them in your own handmade pillowboxes.  I plan to fill mine with jewellery and sweets  - although not together!

Don't forgot about your chance to win blog candy.  Simply follow my blog and comment on each of the Autumn/Winter Catalogue launch posts for a chance to win.  You can earn extra entries on my Facebook page and Instagram account too.  You have until 7 p.m. on Saturday 9 September 2017 to complete your entry.

Happy Birthday Graceful Garden

Hi Crafters,

I hope you are enjoying your summer and making the most of the good weather.  Although, a couple of rainy days would be good to spend in the craft room!  Today's card is inspired by the current challenge at the Global Design Project who have a colour theme this week.

I must admit that the only Wild Wasabi product I own is a marker.  This made the challenge a little more fun to think outside the box.  I had quite a few variations until I chose the Graceful Garden stamp set.  I created a custom Berry Burst card blank and attached a piece of Shimmery White cardstock on top.  I ran a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock though the Big Shot with the Layered Leaves Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  I brought the two layers together with a length of the Berry Burst finely woven ribbon which is super soft.

I stamped the main rose image from the Graceful Garden stamp set onto a piece of Shimmery White cardstock.  The image was coloured with the Berry Burst and Wild Wasabi markers so that I could achieve a no line watercolour effect.  This might need some more practice!  I used the Happy Birthday die to cut the centre of the rose image and then paper pieced the parts back together.  This was really easy using the new Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets.  I cut four additional sentiments and layered on top, finally adding my coloured image to complete the full design.  I went with a jaunty angle for added interest and finished with a few pearls.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenge:

Global Design Project 097 - Colour Challenge
