Sending Hugs to You from Stampin' Up!

Hi crafters,

I've been playing with my new Annual Catalogue goodies and had to start making with the Sending Hugs bundle first.  The bundle comprises the Sending Hugs Stamp Set (11 cling stamps) and the Layering Hugs Dies (8 dies).  Don't forget that each bundle in the catalogue includes a 10% saving.  

I used both the stamp set and dies for my card today.  I have more to share soon, so stay tuned.

I stamped the main image in Versamark ink and then heat embossed in white.  I used Watercolour Pencils in Bermuda Bay, Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight, Garden Green, Melon Mambo, Night of Navy, Old Olive and Rich Razzleberry.  I blended out the colour with the Blender Pens.  I die cut three each of the hugs letters in Basic White cardstock and layered together.  I stamped the mini sentiment from the Sending Hugs stamp set in Rich Razzleberry cardstock and trimmed out with my mini guillotine.  However, there are dies included to cut out each of the small sentiments.  To finish, I wrapped a piece of white twine around the top of the card and tied a bow of the left, securing with a glue dot.

Snowman Season from Stampin' Up!

Hi Crafters,

I'm sharing a super simple card today made with the new Snowman Season photopolymer stamp set from Stampin' Up!.  There are 12 fantastic images in the stamp set.  Even better, there is a co-ordinating punch and you'll save 10% if bought together as a bundle.  These great products and many more can be found in Stampin' Up!'s Autumn/Winter catalogue.  A pdf copy is available in my right-hand sidebar - just click on the cover image.  

My card doesn't feature the punch but it would be super simple to step it up and add a punched element.  I chose to colour my image with watercolour pencils for speed. 

I made a cardbase from Whisper White cardstock to create a frame around my Crumb Cake layer.  I stamped the snowman image in Stazon ink using my Stamparatus.  I coloured with watercolour pencils in Whisper White, Real Red, Bermuda Bay, Basic Grey and Pumpkin Pie.  If you're colouring on cardstock that isn't white, putting down a layer of white pencil first will make your colouring more vibrant.  To stamp the sentiment I used Stazon ink but cut apart the words to stack them.  This is a little scary at first but I'll easily be able to line up the words again to stamp as intended.

A Simple Floral Hello

Hi Crafters,

I have a very simple card for you today using the gorgeous Floral Statements stamp set from Stampin' Up!  I knew this set would be high on my wish list when I first saw the new Annual Catalogue.  You can create a elegant card in minutes or really spend time watercolouring and using more advanced crafting techniques for a real wow factor.

I started with a Whisper White card blank which was actually a cut off from another card.  Taking a piece of Crumb Cake card, I heat embossed my main image in white.  If you are new to heat embossing, it is a really cool technique and uses a sticky ink called Versamark.  This allows the powder to stick to the image and then you heat the powder until it melts, creating a raised shiny finish.  

I added colour to the petals of the flowers using a Melon Mambo watercolour pencil and then pushed the colour out using a Blender Pen.  My finishing touch was to add a few copper sequins in a random placement.

Thinking of You

Hi Crafters,

Today's card came to me in the middle of the night and I just couldn't wait to get into the craft room to start creating.  Did you know that Stampin' Up! have a great range of Watercolour Pencils?  The pencils are highly pigmented which means they look great on both light and dark colours of card.  I used the Colorful Seasons stamp set for this card but only used two of the 24 stamps in the set.  These are just some of the projects that you can make from this suite.

I began by creating a card blank from Rich Razzleberry cardstock and scored horizontal lines to encase my topper panel.  On my Basic Black cardstock I heat embossed the leaves in gold in a random pattern.  I took watercolour pencils in Rich Razzleberry, Real Red and Pumpkin Pie to colour the leaves.  To finish, I added the sentiment in Tuxedo Black Memento ink.

What will you create with the Colorful Seasons bundle - I'd love to know.  If you haven't purchased the Watercolour Pencils yet, I can highly recommend them.  The quality is fantastic and you have so many options with your choice of cardstock and image.

Pretty Kitty Take 2!

Hi Crafters,

As promised, I have another Pretty Kitty card to share with you today.  However, this card is a little different - it's an easel card.  If you are unfamiliar with this card shape, it is simple to create but really has a wow factor, especially for non-crafty friends!

I coloured my image using the Stampin' Up watercolour pencils and blended with the Aquapainter.  Using circle dies from the Stitched Framelits and Layering Framelits, I created the topper.  My patterned paper is from the great paper pad called Serene Scenery which features many fantastic photographic images.
