Make a Difference from Stampin' Up!

Hi Crafters,

I'm back with a birthday card today and this one uses beautiful Specialty Designer Series Paper from the Share What You Love Suite.  It comes in 12 x 12" and many of the sheets have foiled accents.  It's great for small cards too as some of the designs are really dainty.  Here is the paper in more detail:

I created a card base using Rich Razzleberry cardstock and then ran another piece through the Layered Leaves Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  This folder is definitely a favourite of mine.  I added a piece of the Share What You Love DSP to the top portion of the card and placed a portion of one of the Pearlised Doilies on top.  I added a piece of the Rich Razzleberry Velvet ribbon to hide the join and then went about creating my topper.  Using Crumb Cake cardstock I punch out with the Pretty Label punch and then added stamped images from the Make a Difference Stamp set.  This a great alphabet stamp set with alphabets in two different fonts.  I finished by adding some Silver Metallic thread behind and raised up using Stampin' Dimensionals.

I hope you'll snap up this paper to see the beautiful foiled elements.  Let me know what you'd like to see on the blog by leaving a note in the comments.

Happy crafting,

A Little Hello from Stampin' Up!

Hi Crafters,

I hope this post finds you well.  I'm back into study mode now that the new college year has begun but I'm determined to keep crafting!  It will certainly reduce my stress levels!

I have a Memories & More card today.  The Tea Room Memories & More card pack contains 50 double-sided cards, 6 single-sided foiled cards and 4 sticker sheets.  The versatility and quantity mean that you can make so many different cards with just one pack.  These packs are also great for quick makes.

My card blank is made from Night of Navy cardstock and was actually left over from another project.   I used Coastal Cabana cardstock with the Decorative Ribbon Border Punch to create some interest and tied this into the sentiment by using the same colour of ink.  I cut out my sentiment with the Bunch of Banners Framelits Dies.

The Calypso Coral portion of the card is a single card from the Tea Room Memories & More card pack.  To create the focal image I began by cutting the edges of the butterfly wings with a craft knife and then added Wink of Stella in clear to really make them sparkle.

I hope you'll be inspired to try some Memories & More for cardmaking.  These card packs are also great for quick scrapbooking projects.  Stay tuned for more!

Happy crafting,

Thank You Cards and Gifts

Hi Crafters,

Today's project was one that had me burning the midnight oil!  I had so many ideas for thank you gifts for the staff at my placement (Early Years Department) that I really couldn't decide on one.  However, I was pleased with how these cards and gifts turned out.  The theme this week over at Global Design Project is School Days and this fits perfectly.

I created five cards with matching keyrings.  The gingerbread charms are retired but The Gingerbread Man was the story of the term so I thought it made for a fitting gift.

I created card blanks in Mint Macaron and Rich Razzleberry cardstock, running the fronts through the Scattered Sequins Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  This is a great design if you just need a simple something for the background.  I added a card from the Delightfully Detailed Memories & More Card Pack to each background only adhering on the left and bottom so that I could slot the keyring over the top right corner.  I cut a Thank You sentiment from the Thank You Thinlits Die in Smoky Slate cardstock and covered this with Wink of Stella for sparkle.  The keyrings were created from headpins covered in beads and a gingerbread man charm.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenge:
Global Design Project #155 - School Days

Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop - Autumn/Winter & Holiday Catalogue

Hi Crafters,

The Global Stamping Friends are back with another great blog hop.  I hope you'll join us for this fun crafty trip around the globe.  Don't forget to comment so we know you've visited.  We are showcasing products from the new Stampin' Up! Autumn/Winter Catalogue and I can't wait to be inspired by the all the great projects.

I've created a card that uses a traditional Christmas image but in non-traditional colours.  I chose to use the Peaceful Poinsettia bundle.  I was blown away by the amazing samples in the catalogue and couldn't wait to start playing - there will definitely be more to come!

I made a card blank from Rich Razzleberry cardstock and then adhered a piece of the Tea Room Specialty Designer Series Paper on top.  This paper is a tone on tone stripe in Calypso Coral.  I took a piece of Galvanized Metallic Paper and ran it through the Tin Tile Dynamic Textured Impression Embossing Folder which is an absolute favourite of mine.  I added a hint of Bright Copper Shimmer Paint, using more in some areas than others to give a vintage look.  You could use a sponge dauber for this but I prefer getting a little messy and just using my finger!  I stamped the Christmas Wishes sentiment in Calypso Coral and then layered this up using the Layering Oval Framelits Dies.  My focal image was heat embossed in Copper and then I applied ink using Aqua Painters straight from the Calypso Coral, Old Olive and Rich Razzleberry ink pads.  This is definitely my favourite way to colour and the heat embossed lines make it super quick and simple.  I used the co-ordinating die to cut out my poinsettia image and then adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals.

I hope you've been inspired by my traditional/non-traditional make and have fun hopping.  Head over to Narelle's blog for more inspiration using the next arrow below.  If you get lost on the way, there is a full list of the blogs in the hop at the end of this post.

Happy hopping!
