Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop - Birthday Celebrations

Hi Crafters,

The Global Stamping Friends are hopping again and this month we are celebrating all things birthday!  We are an international group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators that love nothing more than sharing our passion for crafting.

Stampin' Up! has so many great birthday products, it was really hard to choose.  I was able to pre-order the Magnolia Lane suite and it is beautiful.  The colours are so elegant and the designs are suitable for so many occasions.  I opted to use the Good Morning Magnolia stamp set, Magnolia Lane Memories and More card pack and the co-ordinating cards and envelopes.

I started with the Magnolia Lane Large Specialty Memories and More Cards & Envelopes which contain 20 foiled card bases and envelopes, with inserts.  I actually covered up the foiling in this design but it there are plenty more cards in the pack to show off this great feature.  I added a Magnolia Lane Memories & More card from the Card Pack and this was wrapped with the Braided Linen Trim.

To create the centre panel I used Whisper White cardstock and stamped the sentiment from the Bloom and Grown stamp set in Mint Macaron and then stamped the small magnolia image from the Good Morning Magnolia stamp set in Crumb Cake.  I coloured the images with my Stampin' Blends in Petal Pink and Mint Macaron.  I raised this panel up using Stampin' Dimensionals.

I hope you are enjoying the hop so far.  There is plenty more inspiration to come and to keep hopping, simply click the arrow below to head to the very talented Tricia's blog.

Happy crafting,

Creating a Landscape Using Stampin' Up! Products

Hi Crafters,

I saw the current challenge over at the Global Design Project and had a ready-made entry all set to share!  I created this card a couple of weeks ago but with all the essay deadlines, I've been a bit lax in posting!  The end of studying is in sight with only two submissions left - I really can't wait!

I combined the Flowering Desert stamp set from the Spring/Summer Catalogue and the Waterfront stamp set from the Annual Catalogue.

Unfortunately the Flowering Desert stamp set is retiring on 3 June but you can still snap it up while stocks last.  Simply head to my online store using the link on the right to get yours.

This card is all about the stamping.  I started by brayering the background in Blueberry Bushel and Grapefruit Grove on Whisper White cardstock.  This was light enough that I could stamp the cactus in Garden Green over the top with no discoloration.  I then masked off the cactus using a Post-it Note and stamped the hills in Early Espresso and the shadows on the land in Grapefruit Grove.   I finished off with a sentiment in Blueberry Bushel.  The card base is made from Crumb Cake and I embossed the front using the Subtle embossing folder.  I added Stampin' Dimensionals to my topper to give it some lift.

I would like to enter this card into the Global Design Project Challenge 187 - Create a Landscape.

Happy crafting,

Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop - Flowers and Leaves

Hi Crafters,

The Global Stamping Friends are teaming up on another great blog hop and this month's theme is Flowers and Leaves.

Stampin' Up! have a fabulous selection of floral products - it was so hard to choose which one to use!  I settled on the Layered Leaves 3D embossing folder and some gorgeous DSP from the Share What You Love Suite.  This paper is super thick and the designs are beautiful.  I ended up making a set of three cards which are the same but different!

I actually started by making the card on the right and then the others followed quickly.  I embossed a Note Card with the Layered Leaves 3D embossing folder and then applied a piece of the beautiful Share What You Love Specialty DSP at a jaunty angle.  I like to call this design the tablecloth card!  I die cut my sentiments (hooray, thanks and miss you) using Whisper White cardstock from the Well Written Dies and adhered three layers together for extra dimension.  I thought about using a different colour for the centre card but decided to stick to the Whisper White in the end.  I did add a coat of Wink of Stella to the sentiments which doesn't show up well in photos.  I finished off with some of the Share What You Love Artisan Pearls in Rich Razzleberry which features in all three of the DSP pieces.  Here are the cards in more detail individually.

I hope you like my no-stamping examples!  It has only just occurred to me that there is no stamping!  Maybe that's a good excuse to get inky soon!  To keep hopping just click the image below to head to Anastasia's wonderful creation.  If you get lost, there is a roll call below too.

Happy crafting,
Rachel x
