Festive Sunday Inspiration Week 15 - Brightly Gleaming Plaid

Hi crafters,

It's time for the penultimate installment in my Festive Sunday Inspiration series.  You can still catch up on the previous posts, take a look back at the first post.  I will be bringing you a post every Sunday until 29 November featuring festive projects to spark your creativity.  Projects will feature Stampin' Up! products from the August-December 2020 Mini Catalogue and the Annual Catalogue, using a variety of techniques.  If you would like to purchase any of the products for yourself, please visit my online shop which is open 24/7.

I really love how this week's card turned out and seriously considered giving this one to my parents for Christmas but their card is coming up next week!  I used minimal products for this card but it really has a wow factor from the Brightly Gleaming Specialty Designer Series Paper.

I made a card base with Very Vanilla cardstock and then cut the Brightly Gleaming Specialty DSP and Copper Foil Sheets using the Best Plaid Builder Dies.  I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere the die cut pieces. I stamped and die cut the bright sentiment from the Peace & Joy bundle using Very Vanilla cardstock and Night of Navy ink.  I layered up a Copper Foil Sheet die cut on top.  I also stamped the smaller portion of the sentiment in Night of Navy ink onto Very Vanilla cardstock and trimmed out with my mini guillotine.

I can hardly believe we are nearly at the end of the Festive Sunday Inspiration Series.  I would love to know your favourite Christmas memory.  Mine includes baking, Jim Reeves and lots of snow!

Happy crafting,

Festive Sunday Inspiration Week 14 - Perfect Pearls Snowflake Backgrounds

Hi crafters,

It's time for the next installment in my Festive Sunday Inspiration series and we've made it to week 14 already.

I'm so excited for today's installment because I've used a product that I've had in my stash for probably about a decade and thanks to Jennifer McGuire it's been given a new lease of life!  Jennifer has created three videos showcasing different ways to use Perfect Pearls Pigment Powders and I was really keen to try out the technique in the first video.  I unearthed my Perfect Pearls and used them with Versamark ink to create gorgeous snowflakes.

I started a production line by cutting four panels of Night of Navy cardstock to size.  I looked out the snowflakes from the Snowflake Wishes stamp set and put each on an acrylic block.  Now that I think about it again, I could have mounted all the snowflakes in place onto the Stamparatus plate and stamped the entire panel in one go!  Oh well, next time!  I used Versamark ink and applied this to the stamp before transferring the image to the Night of Navy cardstock.  Once all the stamping was complete, I added a few small scoops of Perfect Pearls Pigment Powders to the stamping and then brushed off the excess.

For this first card, I added the Night of Navy stamped panel to a Thick Whisper White card blank.  I die cut out of Whisper White cardstock using the Pine Woods Dies and layered the trees together for dimension and texture.  I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue on the centre of the tree only so that the branches were dimensional.  I used another of the dies in the set to create the snow banks and added my sentiment in Night of Navy ink to the bottom left of the card.

The second card features the Peace & Joy bundle and I used a Balmy Blue and Whisper White colour scheme for this card to tie in with the blue Perfect Pearls Pigment Powders.  I also cut a frame for the sentiment using the Stitched Rectangles Dies.  I added three snowflakes from the So Many Snowflakes Dies in Balmy Blue Glimmer Paper for the finishing touch.

My final card adds a purple element and I tied in some silver accents too.  I used the Metallic Mesh Ribbon and wrapped this around the Night of Navy panel.  I used the Silver Foil Sheets and the Stitched Shapes Dies for the base of my sentiment.  I popped on a Gorgeous Grape snowflake die cut from the So Many Snowflakes Dies and then added a Silver Foil Joy die cut from the Joy Dies.  I finished off with some clear jewels from the Elegant Faceted Gems.

What crafty item has been hiding in your crafty stash just waiting to be unleashed in a new way?  I'd love to know what you think of the perfect pearls and don't forget to check out Jennifer's videos over at You Tube.

We Fall In... Colours Blog Hop - November 2020

Hi crafters,

It's time for another blog hop from the We Fall In... Colours team.  We are a group of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators who love to share our passion for creativity through colour.  If you've hopped from Belinda's post you are on the right track.  There is also a full list of participants at the end of this post.

This month our colour combo is Shaded Spruce, Merry Merlot and Pacific Point.  I've only just rediscovered my love for Pacific Point which is a beautiful bright blue.
I started by creating a card base from Thick Whisper White cardstock.  The Shaded Spruce DSP is from the new Classic Christmas 6" x 6" designs and I inked around the edges of the panel with Pacific Point ink using a blending brush.  I cut the letters using the Playful Alphabet dies in Merry Merlot cardstock and adhered with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  I added a two holly leaves in Shaded Spruce cardstock and berries in Merry Merlot cardstock cut using the Sweetest Borders Dies.  I covered the berries with a layer of Wink of Stella for extra sparkle.

I hope you are enjoying our November blog hop.  I am always fascinated to see what my team members have created.  To keep hopping, click the next button to head to Sabrina's post.

Happy crafting,

Festive Sunday Inspiration Week 13 - Holly Wreath

Hi crafters,

It's time for the next installment in my Festive Sunday Inspiration series.

I had an idea to use the holly image from the Christmas Gleaming stamp set to create a square wreath.  I used a template I made with my Cricut to place the image in the right place in my Stamparatus and then just stamped and turned the paper each time.

My card base is made from Crumb Cake cardstock and I layered a panel of Gold Foil Sheet on top.  The stamped panel is Whisper White cardstock and measures 4.75" square.  I cut masks for four of the holly images so that I could have a seamless wreath.  Once I had stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, I coloured the images using Stampin' Blends in Old Olive and Real Red.  I added Shimmery Crystal Effects over the berries for some shine.  I die cut the Merry Christmas sentiment from the Word Wishes Dies.

There are only three weeks left now in the Festive Sunday Inspiration Series.  Have you made a start to your Christmas crafting yet or maybe you're all finished - I'd love to know.

Happy crafting, Rachel x
